Am i too fat for a high fashion model?!

Question: I am 5' 10" and 120 pounds. I am 15 and currently looking into becoming a model. I play a lot of sports so i am toned. But have heard people on here saying that you must be under 115. Do I need to lose weight? (and does anyone know the measurements?)

Modeling is changing, as long as your toned I think you could do it. Remember there are a lot of girls that want to be a model, so you will have a long uphill battle. Goodluck!

If you're going to be a fashion model you'd better lose weight, because the modeling business requires people who are physically attractive, who need to be in shape. (I have one of Claudia Schiffer's workout videos.)

Models are anorexic.

Some of them die because their body just can't support themselves anymore without proper nutrition.

Do you want to die?

You absolutely DON'T need to lose weight!! You are perfectly fine and if anything, you could gain some pounds.

No, you're 5' 10" you don't need to lose weight unless the measurement really is 115.

the wieght maximum will differ for model companies--so check out the companies you were thinking of auditioning for online. i went into modeling a few years back &i wieghed 100lbs so..

the closer your measurements are to 34-24-34 (bust- waist-hips in inches) the better. You weight doesn't matter.

I don't think you're too fat- its not so much about weight as body type and measurements. The average is basically-

Chest 34"-36"
Waist 23"-25" (maybe up to 26?)
Hips 33"-35"

There isn't too much leeway on measurements because the models need to fit into standard size items of clothing. You can't get hired really if you're over those sizes (for high fashion jobs, other types of modeling jobs/areas prob. are less strict)
I don't think they care much about how many pounds you weight though.

You sound beautiful. People would kill for that size. For high fashion modeling? It's a tough business. Lose 5-10 pounds.

You are defiantly not fat, but do you know how anorexic looking the people they hire look?? Why would you want a profession so sleazy and fake? It does not represent fashion at all, it's all bullsnot!!

I advise you do not lose weight to be some walking barbie doll. All barbie dolls are good for is ripping off their heads.

Today's Modeling Market is slightly more open than in past years. At 5'10 you have the height, and 120 LBS TONED sound like model material to me. Don't get discouraged if you start going on auditions, and you do hear comments about your weight; some in the industry are still hung up on having TWIGGY-LIKE models Your best bet is to start your portfolio, and get yourself out there!

DONT LET ANYTHING GET IN THE WAY OF ACHIEVING YOUR DREAM <3

you have to stop eating... NOW...

no it doesnt sound it but if u r just b a plus sized model

At 5'10 ad 120 , and wearing a size 0 -2 clothes you are definitely not overweight. Although modeling still seems to command girls who are as skinny as a rail, it is fast changing to wanting girls with a healthier body style, toned and rounded. So, I guess what I am saying is you probably would have to depend more on your look face wise and your poise and confidence to make it in the model world. Rather than your weight....
