Is throwing up a good way to be skinny?!


Question: okk yesterday was my birthday so now since in like 1 year older my mom been yelling at me more and she keep sayingg "EMILYY beee skinny ur too fat" and since i woke up as a year older all i heard all day is yelling and its making me want to throw upp reallyy bad so should i do it or not

sorry sweetheart, that is not a good idea or a good way to be skinny.
throwing up brings up all the acid in your stomach thru your throat which can lead to a lot of problems..now and later..
if being thinner really bothers your mom so much then it is your mom's problem not yours!!!!!
which is really hard on you and your feelings..
here are some healthy things you can try that worked for me ..
-no eating after 6 p.m just water
-walk right after dinner, rain, snow, sun or sleet at least 4 or 5 times a week. if you go right after dinner you work off more weight.
-try drinking lots of water during the day.
find other friends to talk to and ask them for help to keep you sane.
if it really bothers you which i know it does.. try talking to her when she will be receptive to hearing it.
and if at first you don't succeed try and try again

No. It's called bulimia. It's a mental disease! Don't go into that.

You should definitely not do it. Read up about Karen Carpenter she died because of an eating disorder. Don't let your parents make you feel like throwing up.

It is not a good way to be smaller, but it is an effective way to be smaller. If you are desperate, go for it. But first, try diet and exercise.

Frankly that is the wrong way to lose weight. You can easily get yourself into medical trouble by constant vomiting.

I don't know how heavy you are but I have been losing about a pound a month just by cutting back the portions of everything I eat. I have cut all my meals back by about 40 percent and I snack on fruits in between meals when I am hungry.

So far I have lost about 25 pounds and it is easy for me to do it. Set you mind to change just the amount that you eat normally and you will slowly drop weight naturally.

My best friend is bulimic. Shes not skinny. Shes been binging and purging for years. You might lose weight at first, but then it will take a MAJOR toll on your body and you'll go into starvation mode. Anything you eat, your body will hold onto for dear life - not to mention the havok you'll cause your body, your health. You'll slowly be killing yourself. Eat right and excercise. Its easier.

Only you can decide if it is time to lose weight and no one else. Tell your mom to get off your back and if she doesn't talk to your guidance counselor. If you feel it is time to lose weight there are smarter ways to do it. Weight loss takes time there are no quick fixes unless you cut off a limb.

OMG, emily, gurl don't do it! I swear my whole family did the same thing to me, and you know what, I wanted to do that, but I just started watching what I ate, and working out more....

try walking 30 minutes a day and lifting moderate to heavy weights 2wice a week!!! u can lose weight, or just maintain the right way, by the way I lost 20 pounds, and not a damn thing came out my mouth in the process love!

but you have to start loving u first, and if your mom doesn't love your body, just remember, it's you who has to walk around with your body, no one will take care of you but you, so love yourself first! otherwise all the dieting in the world won't work :)

Doing it a few times probably wouldn't hurt, but don't do it. It could develop into bulimia. It isn't right for your mom to make you feel bad about yourself and don't worry about what she thinks. If you want to lose weight do it for yourself. And im sure the last thing your mom wants is for you to die of an eating disorder. DO NOT listen to the 93 pound girl. She has bulimia and needs help.

no definitly not!! I was into that and I got pretty sick , including always beeing tired. It can also damage your esophogus, heart, throat, dont do it!! Its not worth it at all!! If you want to lose weight then go to a gym or get some kind of fun excercise routine, like "yoga boody balet" or pilates. I do pilates now and I love it! especially standing pilates. Look at the Body Mass Index (BMI) chart. You're probably healthy and don't be afraid to tell your mom that. If you're over, shed pounds by exercising, not going bulimic.

Bulimia=very unhealthy. For one, the stomach acid wears away the esophagus and teeth enamel...

It is a bad way to be skinny! I suggest you to avoid milk, dairy products and products containing them. It will certainly help you to loose some weight and help you to stay healthy. I know this is very hard. But if you consume any of them, you should know that's the problem.

Honey, you know the answer to that .... it is not healthy. Can it make you skinny? Probably not, if you don't have the mental disorder that goes along with this behavior... it is only a temp fix. Plus a person can tear their esophocus and do lots of damage. Get yourself on a routine. Watch what you eat, the amount, drink more water and crystal lite and add some exercise. It need not be anything extreme. I know sometimes parents can be concerned, but they don't stop to think how they may make us feel.. don't take it too hard to the point it makes to do something unhealthy. If YOU feel fat, then just get a routine going and stick to it. But developing good habits, you will be healthy long term. Good luck!

Thats a horrible thing for your mom to say. Teel her that it is normal for a girl to weigh more as a teen, becuase females lean out when they are in their 20s. Dont worry. If it is too serious, she will take you to the docotor, and your doctor will tell you that you are fine, and your mom will have a rude reality check. So, dont worry. And dont go into bulimia. Your teeth will fall out and you will look aweful. Just be happy. :)

You shouldn't, I do I t all the time and I am only 93 pounds. It works but its bad...
