Kelsey you will not put on weight, enjoy your Dads french toast its not as if you are going to eat it 24/7 and from my experience, a little of what you fancy does you good, so by not depriving yourself of tasty and relatively healthy food like french toast, you will develop an understanding of all different sorts of food. There is no type of food you should not eat on a diet, just be sensible, like you wouldn't have chips and steak for every meal would you?

Can I come round your house for some, I love French Toast and chocolate but control it with healthy fruit and veg in between. Eventually, you will grow to learn that fatty processed food tastes artificial and your body will respond badly if you don't eat well. Stick to Dad's cooking!!!!

Have a talk with someone you respect or a nurse and discuss why it is so important to follow a natural healthy way of eating which includes all the things you like in MODERATION. Good luck, Camilla xx

you bet ya.

yeah its ok

Just have a little.

NO FRENCH TOAST!

use multi-grain bread. that should be ok then.

Its not so much what you eat but how much and whether or not youre burning off all the calories youve eaten on any given day.

yeah i guess french toast has a lot of calories but u can balance , like not eat it every day and also when u eat it try to cut off calories from other food

Try one peice on wheat bread, egg white, and low calorie syrup.

No it's not good for a diet. Will it make you gain weight? Just watch your food intake for the rest of the day and only eat a little bit of french toast then you should be ok. Don't eat 20 pieces or something. :) Moderation and exercise are the keys to a good diet.

just remember weight gain results when total calories in exceeds total calories out....as long as you balance your daily calories you will not gain weight.....

No, it's not okay, but then again, if you don't splurge every now and again, you might feel like your really "dieting", and it might cause you to overeat later.

But, French toast is loaded with fat, sugar, and carbs. It's a very bad food to eat if you're trying to lose weight.

yes, but the little things make it unhealthy- but one french toast with low fat syrup and NO sugar perhaps topped with some strawberries= YUM ;-)

If you are dieting you should not be having french toast. I would also like to add you should not be dieting unless you talk to a doctor first!

Seriously its all about calories!!! I watch my calories, but I eat whatever I want. I just count the calories in everything I eat and when I hit my max for that day, I have to stop. It's math! Calories in Calories out! If you want to eat more than burn more off through exercising. E-mail me if you have anymore questions as to how many you should be eating, given your height and weight. I am a size 0 and eat whatever I want, I try to make it healthy all the time, but if I want junk food I indulge. Its all about moderation and calorie counting!

Try freedom toast.

up to two bites, you are okay.

it is ok to have it once in a while because even when you are on a diet you can still have some junk food or else you will get bored of the food you are eating and you will probably break the diet and just eat like ten bags of chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it can be. I make my french toast with wheat bread, egg whites, skim milk, and non stick cooking spray and a little bit of low calorie syrup. If you are trying to watch maybe try this recipe you won't notice the difference.

Try using whole wheat bread. And its not what you eat its the portion of it. Just have a slice instead of 2.
You will be fine :]
and yumm i love french toast!
ps. if you are on a diet make sure you are exercising too!

just don't add butter or a LOT of syrup. Limit yourself to one slice and have something else on the side.
Sarah lee makes this bread that only has 45 calories per slice. It saves me. Lol.

lol Almost anything is OK to eat if your trying to lose weight. Do it in moderation, have 1 day a week where you can eat anything you want without going overboard! Don't kid yourself in denying the things you occasionally crave. This is of unless of course if your training for a body building competition, then your wouldn't be asking this question! Remember exercise is also just as important as diet in ANY successful weight loss program.

It depends how much you eat of it. Also, will you be putting syrup on it? If you really love French toast, then keep it in your diet and cut out something else. It is easier to stick to a diet if you don't deprive yourself all the time.

Not at all. First off the sugar content in the syrup is going to skyrocket your daily calorie intake. Second the eggs are full of cholesterol. Two eggs exceeds your daily intake. If you want a healthy alternate try looking up vegan recipes. There are French toast recipes that don't use eggs and are much more healthy. But the main idea is to avoid the sugar because the calories really add up and thats what you want to watch when you're trying to lose weight.

I asked my nutritionist this the other day.

She says french toast IS GREAT for nutrition because it has bread (energy), and it has milk, and eggs in the mix, which help make muscle and strong bones and teeth. Eat it! Last week, I ate 4 or 5 slices of french toast, and I lost a quarter of a pound! Good luck and enjoy!

As long as it's whole grain bread and you use a sugar free syrup! No little extra pats of butter either! Bon appetit

Weight gain happens gradually. You can have something much more unhealthy than french toast of all things one day, and you likely won't notice any difference. Your health may be a different, but don't worry about weight gain. Eat what you enjoy, just be cautious if it really isn't all that good for you, as you shouldn't have it too often. There's nothing really all that unhealthy about french toast. Have one, have a couple.

Not that good if you're trying to lose weight, but it's not liek you eat it all the time, right?
So it's okay.

a few hours after eating it, burn it off [running, biking, jump roping...etc...]

U CAN EAT CAKE, ICE CREAM, COOKIES, AND CHOCOLATE AND STILL LOSE WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!! u know how?! watch ur portions...it soesnt matter how much fat or carbs or sugar, its the overall calories! u can eat anything as long as u dont eat like 4000 calories of it! just eat around 1600 calories a day and IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT U EAT!

yes make sure you puke it up after you eat it.
