I am looking to loose weight!?!


Question: I'm 16yrs old. (5'5 144lbs) that is average for me.
I'm wanting to tone up my body before we go on our vacation in July...I do gymnastics and i run 20minutes a day.. But i seem not to be loosing any weight!

I need some advice..
On what to eat.
How to loose my gut.
Smaller theighs(sp)

Hard to believe, but exercise does not help you lose weight. Exercise helps you burn calories and tone your muscles, but in order to lose pounds you need a healthy diet. Lowering your calorie intake daily will help you lose weight. Since you're a teenager, it will be easier for you to reach your goal than if you're older. I'd recommend a diet high in fruits, veggies, wholegrains, dairy and protein. Limit "bad" carbs such as white bread, chips, junk food, etc. Tackle your weaknesses (portion control, snacking, desserts). For example, if you have trouble with snacking, make a list of healthy snacks such as whole grain crackers with pb or sliced fruit. Look online or in magazines to find healthy, delicious meals and be open to try new things. Make sure to drink 3-4 glasses of SKIM milk per day. In no time, you'll be fit! Good luck!
