Vary your routine.
Like - 3-4 days of weights start with 15 reps, 12, then 10. Start with a moderately heavy weight then work your way up for your last set.

On the other 2-3 days, use the heaviest weight you can lift comfortably by at least 15 reps, and pump out as many reps you can before complete muscle exhaustion. Do 3 sets of this as well.

This I know works, just keep at it and also make sure you are getting proper nutrients. Protein!

it is better to use smaller weights and more reps because u are trying to see how many reps u can do with small weights but with bigger weights u are just seeing how mauch u can lift! try do at least 12 reps at a reasonable weight for each exercise!!!

-GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is that if you want to get bigger, then do more weight-less reps, but if you want defintion and stamina, do less weight and more reps. You need to do a mixture like one week do fewer reps and switch the next week.

If you are looking to get bigger, I would stick to the rep range between 6-12 reps. No one rep count is perfect. You need to mix it up and vary the reps. There is not need to go real high or real low when trying to build muscle mass.

Just keep working on getting stronger over a long period of time and you will see an increase in size.

Most P.E. teachers will tell you more weight and less repetitions means getting bigger, and less weight and more repetitions means muscle-toning. I would start with less weight and more repetitions and then slowly increase the weight.

you should find out the right weight for you. if you can do easily more then 12 reps on the smaller weight go on to a heavier one. try to find a weight that when you get to your 12th rep your struggling, that would be the right weight for you. you should also do 3 sets of 12 reps when your lifting your weights

Always check with your instructor before, but I guess, as the lady before me says, do less with more reps, it's logical Mr Spock. If you work less and build up more carefully, you get a better tone and look, feel better. If you have to work hard at it, you'll hurt and not feel so good, so just take it easy, chill out and do more with less! It's the only way!!!

Well, if you want to get bigger, the principle of overload will work for you well. Do 5 sets of 5 with a bit of heavier weights. This will cause your muscles to get bigger after a while. Basically if you want to get toned, then you do 3 sets of 15 reps for whatever exercise you are doing. This will get you toned. For your abs, I would suggest doing less weight with more reps. For your arms, there are major groups. The biceps, the triceps, and the forearms. If you want them to get bigger, you must do more weights and less reps.
