Why do so many people eat smoked foods?!

Question: I've noticed with the increasing amount of immigrants from certain countries that stores are stocking more of these types of unhealthy foods.

I just wonder 30 years from now when everyone is suffering with cancer, high blood pressure and clogged arteries from all that toxic food how our health care system will hold up.

Within the last 5 years I've noticed hospitals have had to bulldoze and double the parking lots and there are mobs of sick people going through the ER for every little thing, while the number of family doctors is forever dwindling.

No one will take on new patients and thus you have to settle for any CRAPPY doctor that will take you.

I feel like we're back in the 1930s and our country is full of "peasants" because they certainly eat like peasants.

When are stores going to start stacking healthy foods instead of all this smoked and processed garbage full of nitrates and junk?

Our health care system is going to CRASH at this rate and govt does nothing!!

I'm with you and I get just as frustrated. I'm a Nutritionist and I get so annoyed when I look into people's trolleys and see all the crap that is in there. The governments need to start regulating health foods and make it more affordable for people. It's certainly cheaper to buy crap and this is what annoys me. Some people just can't afford to eat healthy. It is an individual choice to eat healthy, but it certainly needs to be made more accessable for the low income earner. My son has been eating gluten and dairy free for 4 years now and my food bill has increased immensely just for buying gluten free.
Until people get sick though, they are quite happy to eat and drink whatever they like, and then they wonder why or how they have cancer or heart disease. It's then the medical profession's job to try and bandaid the symptoms. Prevention is always better than cure, and there are a lot of people out there who can afford to eat healthy and just don't cause they are addicted to junk.

And to Faires oh yes it has! Guys my age now are all suffering from cholesterol and high BP in their 40s...their parents ate and worked the FIELDS in their days, but this generation was raised here without the benefit of nature and hard work. Report It

  • huh

    smoke food is good
people know the health reason but they just choose it over healthy food

It never harmed all the Italians..pancetta, proscuitto, salame's, all that cured food was always eaten in abundance. It think moderation is the key. I mean smoked salmon is delicious in moderation.?
