I'm 12 and 5'2"....?!


Question: okay, im having a selfconscious moment here :\ sorry

so im 12 and 5'2",maybe 5'3"

im 107 lbs but my stomach sticks out, why is this?
i know im not overweight....but...yeh

There's a couple of things it could be, but I'm thinking you might be dehydrated... most people don't drink as much water as they should (I'm definitely guilty), so try drinking more than usual for a couple days.
Another major possibility is stress. The cortisol hormones that are produced after stress are supposedly linked to weight gain around the stomach... not sure how accurate this is, but it sounds likely enough. People are going to argue with me and say that 12 year olds can't be stressed, but I'm pretty sure I remember being stressed 3 years ago.
If that doesn't help, it's genetics. People are just shaped differently x)

you obviously haven't been working out your abdominal muscles. Work out, watch what you eat and you won't have that problem.

you need more protein

Maybe you are having a couple days when you retain water.

Well, i think u are so young, but hey the younger you start the better..Ok, buy a dvd like an exercise one and use it at home. Aerobics is the best medicine for belly fat, and make sure you dont drink regular soda, that makes your stomach grow so huge. Try it, it really works.

i think that is totally normal, 107 for your height is a perfect weight, you are way too young to be worring about stuff like this, just get regular exercise and eat right and you won't have anything to worry about

Hi, don't worry so much about it. Do some stomach and back muscles exercises. They are fairly simple. First, relax; second, tighten everything from middle to bottom, hold for a count of ten, slowly relax. Remember to breathe while tightening those muscles, they need the oxygen. Continue just past the point of being uncomfortable or about two minutes worth. Work your way up to 5 or 10 minutes of this exercise several times a day. This is not only good for your stomach but for your back as well. I do them all the time. You can do them anytime too. In bed, in school, at the library, you get the idea. Nobody knows you are doing them unless you tell them. Good Luck. Remember to relax and breathe.
