Question: I wake up and do 50 sit ups and 50 push ups every morning. Will that give me any exercise benefit at all?

Yes, of course! I would recommend that you add to your crunches....raise your legs up and cruch by touching your elbows to your knees. Crunches target the upper abs...by raising your legs, you'll hit the lower abs too.
And increase the push-ups. Instead of 50 straight, do 2 sets of 35, then up it to 2 sets of 40, then 3 sets of 30. Pushups work almost the entire upper body and are a great gym free exercise.

Any exercise you do will make a difference, plus all those exercises are building and toning your muscles, good on ya!

well i dont think your doing it right. as soon as you do them you should get mucsles like poppi

Sure it'll make you stronger and give those muscles some endurance. Why not add alternating days of body-weight squats and lunges to work your legs. Legs are a much bigger set of muscles that will tone and engage and burn more calories both during and after exercise.

Absolutely but eventually you will plateau. So after 3-5 weeks of the same you need to change it up (increase numbers or change the type of ab workout).
Big thing is, you need to realize that if you have extra abdominal fat you may not "see" the results as much.
The best benefit is that by increasing your abdominal muscles and biceps, there is less strain on your back and we always want to focus on your core.
If you become more interested in variation for abs and arms, try an exercise/stability ball, you can use it in home and there is some really fun exercises to be used with it)

Absolutely. For even more benefit you may want to check out Hindu Push Ups and abdominal crunches performed while sitting on an exercise ball.

I have some pages posted on my website that explain the health and strength benefits of bodyweight exercises if you would like to check them out.

Good health and good luck!

yea thatll def help keep you mildly in shape but to get in great shape it takes alot of diff exercises. those are good for you, but they only work your abs, chest, and a bit of your triceps. what about your shoulders, biceps, back, and legs? theres more to getting in shape than just push ups and sit ups.
