Weight Loss Plan; Will it work ?!


Question: Hello, my name is Emily and I'm 13. I weigh 130 pounds. I want to lose 30 pounds in 1 year or less. I made a weight loss plan, it's not that great, but I guess it's good for a starter...

Heres my plan:

Eat a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast: Honey nut cheerios. (1 cup) 2 oranges. 1 glass of orange juice.

Lunch:
Half of a sandwich. 2 healthy snacks to go with it. Juice box.

Dinner:
Anything healthy, with 1 glass of 2% milk. ( No desert)

Exercise plan;
I'll go for a 1 hour walk a-day. I'll do 100 curl ups right before I go to bed. And of course, I'll replace all the "not so good" snacks, with healthy snacks.

Do you think I will be able to lose 30 pounds in one year or less?

How long do you think it will take? (I wish it was before July or august, so I can look good in my summer clothes!!)

I think it is great that you want to watch your weight, understand this though, be very careful at your young age that you do not just Diet, and make sure healthy activities such as exersise stay the most important part of the plan. Your eating plan sounds ok, you may wish to eat a couple more meals, one in between breakfast and lunch and another inbetween lunch and supper. It doesnt have to be much, say a protien or snackwell bar/snack this tricks your body into thinking it doesnt need to store food away as it constantly getting food.

Also in your exersise plan make sure you STRETCH FIRST this will help prevent injuries to your muscles when you exersise. Also how much TV do you watch? do you know there are 20 minutes worth of commercials in an hour long show? you could take that time to stretch or do some resistance exersises. Stretching is very benifial to your musles as it keeps them moving, and providing a good supply of blood in turn removing the toxins, and lactic acid (the burning pain you feel after working out).

As for how much you will loose in a year that all depends on how many calories you take in, and how many you burn throughout the day. You want to burn more than you consume this is what causes weight loss, just make sure its done in a healthy way.

And finally once you start working out, the first thing you will do is build muscles, as they are easier to get than loosing the fat. So dont be discouraged if you seem to start gaining weight and not loosing any. Muscles are also heavier than fat too, because they are denser. So again you will be exersising, and not see any weight come off, just keep with it, and you will start to notice that even though your not loosing weight, your body is slimming down and you pants and clothes will start being looser. To be on the safe side, you would either need to be diet books that are by professional dietitians and fitness trainers and weight loss centres/centers. Or you would need to search the net for professional dietitians and fitness trainers and weight loss centres/centers. Also you would need to look in your phone books for professional dietitians and fitness trainers and weight loss centres/centers within your any area of your country. This is the right way to do it. and it's the best health policy.

You better make sure your daily calories balance is above 1200-1500 otherwise by July or August you'll be looking good only in pictures. At this age till around 20 you have to grow. There isn't enough in your list.

umm i would have a full sandwich at launch and have thosh snacks at a differant time coz it's better to do things slowly it's prooven to put less weight on. "Oh ya and if i do have desert i will make sure its under 200 calories" bad bad bad if ur gonna try and do this you might as well try hard, forget desert. ive done that oh just one and it dont work. break up the curl up's to 30 straight curls, 30 were left ebow touches right knee and 30 were right elbow touches left knee (this will exersize more tummy muscles) do a couple of sets of squats maby 5 lots of 20 with 30 second break between each set. i hope it all works for you and your targets seem realistic so good luck

Your diet is extremely unhealthy unless you have a variety of foods. You can actually eat anything you want if it's in the right portions.
Your juice box and oj have sugar or some form of sugar in them. Healthier to have water or iced tea. If you are a pop or diet pop drinker, you need to cut those out. The sugar from regular pop as well as the aspartame from diet pop actually cause you to GAIN weight.
You didn't say how tall you are. But 130 pounds at at least 5'4" or taller is considered normal. Starving to get into summer clothes just isn't healthy.
