Answers: please could you tell me what are the dangers of being vegetarian ,how dose body suffer in the long term

If you follow a correct and balanced diet, there ARE no dangers, and if done correctly, a vegetarian diet is HEALTHIER than a meat eating diet. And, there have been studies shown that people who eat the least amount of meat (the Okinawan Japanese, for example) are the healthiest and live the longest.

I'm a vegetarian, and have been for two years, and feel so much better than I ever did while I ate meat.
It's all a matter of balancing and watching what you eat. I get enough calcium from plain organic yogurt (which also provides necessary B vitamins and protien) and green, leafy vegetables. I eat at least 8 servings of fruit and veggies a day.

By eating avocados and nuts, I eat heart-healthy fats rich in omega3 in place of the animal fat I would consume in meat.

I eat one egg a day. Again, necessary B vitamins and protein.

By regularity eating whole grains, lentils, chickpeas, tofu, and drinking soymilk, I get all the different proteins and amino acids that my body needs.
I'm ten times healthier than I was when I was a meat eater, and my doctor says so.

When wanting to learn about a vegetarian diet, talk to a doctor, not people who are meat eaters who have
a. never taken the time to LEARN about a proper vegetarian diet or even tried one
or
b. meat eaters who have tried one, but did so incorrectly by not eating a balanced diet, and are convinced that it's bad for you.

There are so many horrible things in meat today - antibiotics, hormones, etc. I'm not even going into the animal cruelty aspect.

Organ failure if your not getting a variety of things in you.
Umm, becoming anemic is a big one, lack of protein, that causes you to lack the ability to heat yourself.
Having a healthy eating style! thats very dangerous lol...

Your tastebuds will never get the saiisfaction of experiencing what a taste bud deserves!

As far as your body...it sounds real healthy. I know I couldn't... I enjoy meat way too much.

Not getting the complete range of amino acids and insufficient vit Bs.

for women lack of iron.

Providing you research it well beforehand and don't just think that you are limited to a diet of just vegetables and fruit then there are no problems.

You can get protein from beans, nuts and seeds - not just meat, poultry and fish.

Providing your diet is low in fat (which it would be!), and contains variety you'll be healthy.

Dieticians are talking about eating "Rainbow Foods" by that they mean not just eating lettuce, but the whole range of colours - so yellow peppers, red tomatoes, purple aubergine, etc.

you will not get a perfect shape, low ammino acid that soon will leads to acidity
even if your are following a diet you should eat all kind of vegetables without ignoring anything

There are different type of vegetarians people are not educated about it and end up harming themselves. So yeah if you eat nothing but leafs, u are going to get sick.

also some people disagree about calling yourself a vegetarian if you eat fish, but i strongly recommend eaten salmon.

There are no specific dangers in being vegetarian. Many people who decide to cut out meat do their research and ensure they they are eating sufficient protein from other sources so I would say a greater proportion of vegetarians have a balanced diet.
It is of course possible to eat a very unhealthy vegetarian diet in the same way as it is to eat an unhealthy omnivore diet.

1. You won't be getting a full range of amino acids in. Vegetable protein has about half of the amino acids that you need. This will make recovering from exercise difficult as you don't have the materials to rebuild tissues

2. Iron, because you aren't eating meat , you won't be getting enough iron in your diet. This can make you anemic which will leave you tired and drug out through out the day.

3. Calcium; many vegetarians don't take in enough dairy products. Calcium is crucial in building and maintaining strong bones and teeth. It is also a key part of proper metabolism.

4. Saturated fats. Your body needs at least a small amount of saturated fats in order to build hormones and HDL (good) cholesterol.

not many if your following a healthy balanced diet. Infact, many dr's, nutritionists etc reccommend it.

As long as you get all your nurtients there is no damage.

Everything you get from meat and milk (if vegan) you can get from somewhere else, so as long as a varied complete diet is eaten there is no problem!!
