Did i have a good diet today?!

Question: I'm trying to eat very healthy, low calorie and so on.

Breakfast- A ziploc bag half full of honey nut cherrios. [I'm not big on breakfast, but i figured I'd eat something today.]

Lunch- An apple, some celery and carrots in a bag, light nonfat yogurt (90 calories), and a lowfat bologna sandwich with american reduced fat cheese on 12 grain whole wheat bread and water.

Snack after school- A bowl of honey nut cherrios used with skim milk, a banana, and 12 grain whole wheat toast, with sugar free strawberry preserves.

a cup of green tea

then a bagel with like chives and onion in it. (110 calories) with the strawberry perserve, and another light yogurt.

for exercise i played DDR on heavy mode for a little over an hour. Then 20 push ups, and around 150 crunches.

Good day?

avoid processed sandwich meat and processed cheese as it is high in cholesterol and loaded with sodium and not much nutritional value. A peanut butter sandwhich on oatbread might be better. Or fresh chicken or tuna. Protein is important. Try brick cheese with a MF of 22 percent.

cheeries loaded with sugar; try foods with natural sugar such as jam on a whole wheat toast or fruit. Try adding a banana to your yogurt and a bit of bran cereal or granola.

green tea....wonderful!
a great and yummy snack are graham crackers...bit better for a snack than a bagel. You could put jam or peanut butter or becel margarine on them....

All the things you listed are no so bad but over the long run they are ..so better to try and learn the best way to eat now.

not too good. but not the worst either.

skip the honey nut cheerios altogether and go for a high fiber/ low sugar or no sugar cereal.

eat turkey instead of bologna.

skip the bagels altogether.

start picking high protein/ low carb snacks instead of bagels and cereals.

It sounds okay. I would suggest more whole fruit, vegetables and fiber. Also an increase in your protein. Are you trying to lose weight or just trying to eat a balanced diet?

pretty good
try getting rid of the cheerio thingys.

Yes, you sound very healthy :-)
well done.

heres my advice:

Breakfast-add a cupof milk,soymilk,or yogurt.

Lunch-add lettuse and tomato,not too much cheese/

Snack=woah that is a rather large snack! try to take out the milke[better yet use it during breakfast!], and the toast. otherwise ur getting way tomany carbs for weight loss!

exercise sounds great!

good luck!!

*I would skip the starchy food (cereal is just flour and substance that your body will immediately turn into sugar- which is bad if you are trying to be healthy and lean) I would do Oatmeal instead with fruit...

Lunch- An apple, some celery and carrots in a bag, light nonfat yogurt (90 calories), and a lowfat bologna sandwich with american reduced fat cheese on 12 grain whole wheat bread and water.

**Very good, keep up on the water, a little bit of bread is okay- but remember to look out for the nasty white enriched flour, you never want to over-do it with that.

Snack after school- A bowl of honey nut cherrios used with skim milk, a banana, and 12 grain whole wheat toast, with sugar free strawberry preserves.

**You had yogurt earlier, and the milk for the cereal- Be careful with Dairy- and you are eating bread again...If you are trying to lose weight you need to get rid of all the flour- even whole wheat has enriched flour. If you must have bread- get Ezikial bread- Trader Joes and Safeway has it- and most markets do not- it is flourless bread that tastes really good- high in protein and fiber. Banana is good.

a cup of green tea
**Good

then a bagel with like chives and onion in it. (110 calories) with the strawberry perserve, and another light yogurt.
**Don't look at the calories so much, the flour again!

for exercise i played DDR on heavy mode for a little over an hour. Then 20 push ups, and around 150 crunches.

**Great, keep it up!!

I give your day a 7/10

Add more protein, less bread, less dairy- add eggs, tuna, chicken, fish, brown rice, VEGEATABLES and take away the bagels, and one serving of your dairy, get rid of your cereals that are by kelloggs and get something that is less starchy, like low fat granola or oatmeal.

Not bad. Some healthy food and some fun food.

That's a really good day! For an even better day, here are some tips:

-have oatmeal or normal cheerios for breakfast with some fruit (honey nut cheerios has too much sugar, and is not enough! also, fruit gets you going for the day.) breakfast is important if you want to stay away from weight gain and be healthy, so have a good one EVERY DAY!

-for lunch, everything was great except the bologna. it is one of the most unhealthy meats you can have! its soo salty also. I love the whole wheat bread and veggies, plus the yogurt too, so instead of bologna have turkey with swiss cheese.

-honey nut cheerios once again isn't healthy, but if u want that to be ur treat for the day, than thats ok.

-green tea is amazing for you, keep that up, it makes you live longer!

-the rest is great, playing DDR is good, only if you go for an hour though, and the push ups and crunches are good too!

now please answer my question on exercise:

no bagels.. other than that, i don't know why everyone is getting all touchy about the cherrios. eat the cherrios (you can try plain soymilk, on cereal, you can't even tell the difference). I would cut out the bread, but you can try pita. Whole wheat pita is really good... but, once more, NO BAGELS! you did good.
