Bodybuilding And Cardio?!

Question: I've been bodybuilding for a while now, but upper body. I just started doing cardio and lower bodybuilding for about a month now. I want to know, how will cardio effect my muscle growth?

It depends on many factors, but it's mostly genetic.
you should look at your goals, if you are trying to build muscle, you have to be in a caloric surplus... so doing cardio won't affect it much if you are taking in more calories than you are burning off per day (but don't overdo the cardio. you need a lot of rest and recovery to build muscle)
if you are trying to lose fat, you have to take in less calories than you are burning off... this itself is contradicting muscle growth (since you need more calories to do that)... your main goal is to conserve muscle and lose fat... so cardio will help you lose more fat, but it won't help in the muscle building department.
depending on your caloric intake and nutrient ratio, you can actually gain leg size while doing cardio. the trick is not to over do it. low-moderate intensity cardio is the way to go if you want to do this. and never do cardio on your leg day workout.
while i was preparing for my last bodybuilding competition, i actually brought my hamstrings up by doing 45 minutes on the treadmill, 3.5 mph, on a 12% incline 3 times per week.

P.S. if you are doing high volume workouts, try to limit cardio to first thing in the morning... it could lead to overtraining.
