How to determine target heart rate - its already fast....?!


Question: I know the formula....
220-age times .5 through .7

That means 220-35 X .5 through .7 comes out to 92-129

The problem is....my resting heart rate is 115

So what rule of thumb do I use if my heart rate is normally fast?

So what rule of thumb do I use if my heart rate is normally fast?

Use the talk test;
- if you can't talk or can barely talk during your workout then your heart rate is too high
- you can talk words and sentences then you're heart rate is within target
- if you sing or whistle during your workout then your heart rate is too low

Be sure to go fast enough that you're actually trying and burning fat, but not too fast because you wanna keep the same pace the entire workout (no stopping or slowing down)
