Morning exercise, before breakfast?!


Question: I'm thinking of starting my daily exercise in the morning before breakfast, instead of after eating. My exercise of choice is running and bicycling.

Now, I know some say it's bad energy-wise (because you don't have the energy to go as far as you might've if you had eaten) but others say it's good for fat burning because the body is low on glycogen. As I want to burn fat and not carbs, I'm sticking with the latter view.

Any other views/suggestions?

Its good idea to do cardio before you eat, because then you burn past calories and your body hasn't started the lazy down process. Its a very good way to ab's lol...

Protien in general is used for muscle build it probably help with your legs and thats it. I will say protien doesn't burn other things, and don't think that. It may take over there area, but there is no thing that burns that is just eaten. or look into reading about HDL and HL carbs or fats...

The Body for Life guy reckons that exercising before food is a good idea. Don't know the reasons why, but the book will explain it.

I started to exercise before I eat for two reasons. Firstly, I didn't like moving around with food in my stomach; it made me feel sick. Secondly, it is better for fat burning.

I did exercise before eating breakfast, but it made me feel bad, so at least eat a biscuit before you go bicycling or jogging. If you do morning exercise right after you ate, it will make you feel bad to, so just eat something small, exercise, then eat your breakfast. Exercising without fuel will damage your body

When I was in Air Force Basic Training we always worked out and ran for miles in the morning before breakfast. I lost about 40lbs in six weeks. Make sure to eat breakfast soon after to replenish yourself. It's also your best fuel up for the day. Good luck

no dnt make it a heavy breakfast...a glass of skimmed milk n few fruits wil b bettr tahn an empty stomach..bcz an empty stomach produces acids at times of hunger n dat may cause ulcers..

Exercise in the morning before breakfast is unhealthy for your heart. You are wakig up but your heart is still sleeping. And you begin torment it by exercise stress.
So do it evening, 2 hours after eating. Not earlier. You have to eat more carbohydrates this day: slow carbohydrates (like rice) - before, and fast carbohydrates (like bread with jam) - just after gym.
