What is the best workout plan for getting into shape by summer?!

Question: eating healthy is important...5-8 small meals per day, carbs should be about, but not exceed 50% of what you eat, about 30% protein and about 20% fruits and vegetables
you also need to exercise, which is your original question... the elliptical is a great workout, you about double the calories you would burn on a treadmill or just walking at a track, for the same amount of time. Use an elliptical for 45 minutes ever other day. Personally, I use the elliptical twice a week for about 45 minutes, or until I hit 3 1/3 miles and then two or three times a week I go to the gym and lift weights, which leads to my second workout plan. Go on the elliptical twice a week and lift light weight but a good amount of reps to tone your muscles (personally I lift heavier weight at less reps for muscle growth, but it does not sound like you want growth). If you are not familiar with exercise, here are a few sites to help you form a regiment for yourself - don't be turned off to the site if they have people with large muscles everywhere - just remember, more repetitions at less weight will tone and less reps with heavy weights will equal growth...

http://www.changingshape.com/exercise/di...

http://www.muscleandstrength.com/exercis...

http://bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.ht...

i personally use these three sites when i want to mix up my routine - they have very similiar info, but you may understand more from one site than another based on their different pictures or video or just description of exercises. also there are a few different exercises on each site, but i recomend you look through all three sites so you can find what best works for you based on your needs, whether you need more toning in one area or another. you can also always ask a personal trainer at your local gym.

good luck!!!

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

start to swim a hour and a half monday though friday and u will be glad

just like someone else said, swimming is a great workout. But if swimming is not the thing for you, running is also a great cardio workout. While doing these you should do some light weights and eat very healthy. Work out atleast 3-4 times a week. Good luck!
