A complete meal always includes a lean protein and a natural, complex carbohydrate. The best meal of all for muscle-building and fat-burning purposes contains three things:
1. Lean protein (chicken, fish, egg whites, etc)
2. Starchy carb (potato, rice, etc)
3. Fibrous carb (broccoli, green beans, salad, etc)
Here's a whole day's worth of sample meals for you:
Meal1:
Oatmeal
egg whites
orange
Meal2:
Cream of rice
egg whites
Meal 3:
baked potato
Top round steak
Asparagus
Meal 4:
Brown Rice
Chicken breast
Green beans
Meal5:
Yams
Chicken breast
Broccoli
Meal 6:
Salmon
Yams or sweet potatoes
Mixed green salad with light dressing
In your meal plan, you have some good options (fruit, chicken, salmon, 2 eggs, whole wheat toast).
It's just your combinations are off.. like eating fruit by itself without a protein. Or the salad without adding some chicken for the protein.
I'd say.. tweak your snacks to include a protein and you are well on your way to a very good plan.
Without getting all technical and being picky, it's not bad. Just a little tweaking with the suggestions above and you can make additional meal plans and stick to the rules of what makes up a complete meal.
Even a 'snack' should still be a complete meal but the portions can and should be adjusted for your situation.
Oh my, that looks delicious! :)
that is good but you may need to change it a bit so you do not get run down and not want those foods anymore.
Yogurt for snack or breakfast
boil the eggs
salad with a small amt of dressing
small bits of cheese are also good becasue you need it for your bones
It sounds pretty okay to me, but I would suggest putting some more protein in there (especially around breakfast time, because protein can be really helpful during that time) and probably some more calcium :)
yes because you getting in carbs, protein, and good fats...
for your salad snack you should have a yogurt or pudding or something yummyy
sounds good but u could be eating even more calories then just that.. u can try adding protein powder to the oatmeal for extra protein, and u can also add some tuna or chicken to the salad.......
sounds good! but on ur PB sandwich don't eat more than 2 tablespoons of PB
