Question about metabolism?!

Question: I know that eating lots of small meals instead of just a couple large meals, speeds up metabolism, but does the calorie content of these meals matter?

For instance, if I eat a meal of 100 calories 5 times a day (just an example) will my metabolism be slower than if I ate a meal of 200 calories 5 times a day?

Thank you!

Calorie content matters whether you eat 1 meal or 30 meals. If your going with small meals, you need to eat your calories in chunks. Say, eat really healthy every other meal. Celery is good for this kind of stuff. Also, drink water with your meals as water is a metabolism booster.

if ur eating alot of junk food then it doesnt matter if ur eating 6 meals a day.... but if ur eating healthy then any calories u take in wont be bad calories and will give you more energy to work out.... remember also to have a good work out schedule to help speed up ur metabolism.... the best to speed up ur metabolism would probably be running

oh yeah, definitely. it's not solely about how many times you eat a day. it's also about calories. your body needs a certain number of calories to maintain natural body processes like digestion & blood pumping. not just that, you actually expend calories just sitting there & fidgeting too. your body will need calories to help maintain all this, & if not, then your metabolism is going to slow & your fat-storing cells will work hard to hold on to fat

i heard the best eating strategy for women who do light exercise throughout the week is eating 6x a day, 300 calories per meal. i do something different though, these are my average intakes for each meal:
breakfast - 400
snack - 100
lunch - 300
snack - 300 (more than before because i exercise after this snack)
dinner - 400
snack - 200

What you eat will affect your metabolism as much as how much and when you eat. Also, how much exercise you get and what type of exercise it is can help increase your metabolism.

Hi,

What kinds of calories you always matter.

If you want to increace your metabolism you need to eat right. Things like beans, yogurt and low-fat chesse can really help.

Also, the more calories you eat, the harder your body needs to work to convert them into energy(or fat).
