Losing weight is impossible :(?!

Question: I've tried running 5 miles 5 days a week and cutting calories and I didn't lose weight, walking for 2 hours everyday, and other stuff but I just can't lose weight! It really does kill my self estime.

I used to weigh 135, but since I tried to loose weight, I gained 3 pounds (I'm 14 years old and 5'3")

Any help? PLEASE! :(

Eat lean protein, remember to get the right amount of fiber daily. The quality of food you eat definitely affects your ability to lose weight. If you live on just junk food all day, even if you only eat 1800 calories, all those calories have come from pure sugar which has given your body all the fuel it needs for the day. It doesn't need to rely upon using up any of the fuel it has stored, like fat, for example. Fat is only there as a back up. If your body has the sugar, it'll use it first. Also, eat several small meals a day. Your body is probably in starvation mode from eating nothing but junk food or going for hours without eating. The body wants to hold onto the weight. It doesn't want to lose it. Evolution dictates that the body keep all it's fuel reserves for survival.
Secondly, if you've done all that exercising and gained three pounds, it's probably some muscle mass. Despite the fact that you may have been eating crap non stop, you did exercise the muscles which means some of your weight gain could be muscle mass.
Do the cardio in short intense bursts rather than running for so long every day. Also, don't just run. Change it up some days. Believe me, your body builds up a tolerance fast and you'll need something else to do to continue the weight loss.

yeah STOP! your 14, you should not worry about weight, especially if you weigh 138lbs. you gained 3 lbs of muscle. weight means nothing. I'm 5'3 200lbs(with a GREAT Self Esteem),Married to a Hot guy and I have a hot boyfriend on the side, They both love me for the way I look!!!

gaining weight is impossible for me. When you are running are you really pushing yourself? I mean you need to be dead tired after a run and even during it, you need to push push push. Do sit ups also.

I ran cross country and track in high school, the only way you see results is if you work yourself to the limit, keep going until you hit your thresh hold

The weight gain that you have seen is normal. You are gaining muscle mass and muscle weighs more that fat does.

And running the amount that you are you should be able to eat what you want. If you want a more health conscious foods, go with the lean meats (to help sustain the lean muscle growth) and the right amount of vegies and fruits. Fruits would be a good snake during the day.

Also depending upon how long you have been working out you may need to wait another month before you see any type of weight loss. In the mean time, use how your clothes fit as a gauge of your workout success. If they are looser even though you might have weight gain, then your workout is working.

Keep at it and don't give up.
