Am I just being paranoid about my weight?!


Question: Mmk...I'm am overweight for my age (18) and its really starting to bother me about my weight. I am 5'4 and 167 lbs. I get really nervous about being in public (I'm also extremly shy) with my weight and my shyness. I wear loose shirts and pants and I feel like my stomach it ponchin' when I sit down and it really embarrasses me because I think that people are teasing me.
I don't like feeling this way and I want to know if I'm just being an idoit or if I shouldn't worry about it.
If ya'll have any tips or weight loss tips, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've always had a weight problem. I'm 5'5" and I have gotten up to 250lbs. Right now I'm down to 140. The best thing you can do is eat right. Don't go to fast food places, NO soda, no junk food. Learn to eat right, now while your young. A well balanced meal goes a long way. Exorcising is also key. You don't need to do a lot. Just 30 minutes a day of cardiovascular. To help you tone do some weight baring exorcises like crunches or push ups. The most important thing is to not worry about what other people think. It's not easy, but what they think does not matter. Only what you think.

no ur not. i mean u shouldn't be embarrassed by your weight. i mean i am 11 and i weigh almost the same. but i dont care what people think of me and neither should u! i mean u should be smarter than me cuz ur older! but dont be self conscientious. people should like u for who u r and not for what u look like. u dont need to worry about anything.

Does it really matter. Forget about it and just be yourself. You'll be happier if you get to be who you want to be and not what everyone else wants you to be. Good Luck.

work out - walk, bike, to go a gym - at least 30 minutes a day. and eat more foods that are colorful - greens, reds, etc. that will help.

First of all, I don't think you are an idiot. It is a very average thing to be overweight. I'm certain that your problem could be handled by either joining a group like Weight Watchers or picking up a good book on Nutrition. I joined Weight Watchers and lost 25 pounds and I read the books "Everything Nutrition" and "The Complete Idiots Guide to Total Nutrition". Both books are very good reads and I can exhaust myself on the benefits of Weight Watchers. Remember I'm Average-You're Average and know you're loved. Dave
