Im so disgusted by my body lately...help!?!

Question: So i take a strength training class at school 3 days a week. I also eat semi-healthy, with a spinach salad being the main course for lunch and/or dinner.
For breakfast i eat Kashi golean crunch cereal.

I dont eat too terribly bad.

I will be 18 in 6 months. I am 5'7 and the last time i weighed was right at 178.

Today i saw some pics that were taken of me this morning, and i was just utterly disgusted. I had cellulite on the back of my legs and from the side my arms and my legs just looked huge.

im getting so depressed with this.

I have been following this diet and exercise plan for 2 months now. Why havent i seen any results????

What can i do?

Hang in there! I think all women feel grossed out by their bodies every now and then. It doesn't help that our culture thinks we should all weigh 100 pounds...

I've noticed in my own body, and researched my self, that fat can be stubborn, especially if it's been around for a while. For me, my problem area is my butt and thighs, so that takes the longest to "burn" off, even with months of exercise and eating healthy. You should start seeing results soon, and I encourage you to keep up with the weights. They work wonders for me and they "train" your muscles to burn fat even when you're not moving.

Remember, being beautiful on the inside is way more important than what we look like. Focus on your character and integrity, and the outside won't seem so important...:)

this workout has been getting really good reviews.

well if you dont really like the diet your on and feel its not working for you maybe try Jenny Craige because its supposed to be very effective and have good portion sizes. Hope this helps. :D

Have you seen a doctor to discuss metabolic or other issues that may be affecting your weight?

You could try eating healthy instead of "semi-healthy" or not "too terribly bad".

seems to me like you should be losing weight. you should go see a nutritionist who could fully assess your food intake and the exercise you're doing.
don't forget that since you weight train so much most of your weight is still muscle, even if it is covered by some fat.
the mian thing in the meantime is to be happy with what you do have. you're strong and healthy, don't forget how many wonderful qualities you have. plus it is only you who pays so much attention to your legs and your arms. the rest of the people see the big picture, they see the great person that you are. it may sounds all blah blah blah to you, but seriously when you're happy with what you have it is so much easier to lose weight. don't do it because you find yourself disgusting, because you are NOT. do it because you feel it would be the right thing for your help. do it with love. :)
good luck. i am sure your family would help you out greatly too if you don't want to go see a nutritionist.

I'm no diet expert, but I can definitely tell you what you might want to know. From your question, you must be desperate for an answer. Being depressed over your body isn't the right way to go. Please tell me you've heard this from some one before me. You have to know that a healthy diet and excersise will work eventually. But from what you've told me, I can only guess at what your problem might be. For example, not all salads are good for you. Too much dressing adds a large amount of unneeded calories to your body. Know that what you see on T.V. (diet pills, plans, etc.) usually don't work and are probably just a bunch of unneeded stuff in your life that might actually cause more problems you don't want or need. Being utterly disgusted with yourself is bad for you. Again, you probably know this, but hearing it again might help you remember that your body reacts to emotions. If you're stressed, your body will react to it. Being mentally healthy is just as important as your physical health. If you'd like to lose weight, I advise getting involved in a nice all-around work out cardiovascular sport. One good example of this would be tennis. Our bodies can only do so much and it can only change so fast. Don't look at it so pessimistically. If you do the right things and make the right choices (probably heard that one before too), then you'll be the way you'd like to be in no time. Don't give up. It's working even if you don't know it.

Try running a little, I thought I'd give it a try a few months back and in 4 months I lost 6kg and could really see less fat over my whole body...
