For Serious fitness people..?!

Question: hi! im a 15 year old girl, 5'7 and 135lbs. i realize that i'm not obese or anything of that matter, but i have some trouble areas, and am looking to get seriously committed to excersising regularly, so it becomes a habit for life. also, i want to be in the best physical (and mental) shape i can be, because i play volleyball, softball, and badminton. but mostly volleyball =) anyways, i get about 40 minutes of phys. ed 5 days a week, but sometimes that's not too vigorous. i was wondering if anyone could kind of make me up a sample workout schedule for a week? and any advice is much appreciated! also, i'm trying to incorporate yoga into my schedule, since it will help me concentrate and be in the best mental shape for my volleyball games, and all around lower my stress and increase flexibility.
i need to focus on my core, and another trouble zone is my thighs.
*i have an excersise ball, treadmill, and weight machine.
thanks so much!! please explain excersises in detail! thanks again!

Hey I'm 15 too
I do soccer,track and tennis
My normal work out consists of 3-5 lsd miles a day(long, slow, distance)
If your not a great runner start of running on the treadmill or by running 1 mile a day and building up
you could also try to do strides
which is where you run all out from anywhere from 200-600 meters
i wouldn't worry about lifting weights
but do lots of squats and stretches before and after you work out

I am sure you are great just the way you are, but I don't think exercise or determination is the problem. My guess is your diet. It is hard to eat a healthy diet at your age. Everybody is shoving junk food in your face. I am not saying you should eat less or starve yourself, just begin removing junk from your diet.

I am recommending tweaking your eating habits. your diet should focus around lean protein sources and complex carbs. Also start cutting back on fried foods, high sugar foods, soft drink. You don't have to make an overnight change, just start turning down junk food.

You will not see changes after a week, but after 6 weeks or so of tweaking your diet you'll begin to see changes.
