Good workout ????!

Question: Hi! I am interested in getting into good shape. I was hoping someone could give me some really good ideas on a workout that will help me get into great shape without building too much muscle. I am 37 years old and in generally good health. I do have a bad knee and need to be careful of that. How can I build up the muscle around the knee to make it stronger? Also, when is the best time to work out, AM or PM? Any ideas on good nutrition and juicing? Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Walking is always good. I am over 40, and the sports medicine clinic said that walking will strenthen and stretch out my knees. He also gave me a link for the best and worst knee workouts. I do the partial squats several times a week and I am finally back playing vollyball and tennis after several injuries. I also use 1-3 lbs weights when I clean the house or I am just hang out with the kids. It makes my legs toned with out bulking them up.

If you have a bad knee you would want to use the elliptical. It is low impact on your knees.

The best time to work out to lose fat is in the morning before you have eaten.

You will want to start eating a lot of lean protein (like chicken that is grilled or baked not fried and fish). Protein will promost muscle growth which will make you look toned and defined. Lay off too many carbs. Eat 5 small meals a day that include a decent ammount of protein. This works best because it gets your body used to being fed every 2-3 hours and burns off quickly waht you eat. And example day could be:
Meal #1 (breakfast)- Oatmeal
Meal #2- 1/2 chicken breast and veggies
meal #3 (lunch)- 1 whole chicken breast, veggies and 1/2 protein bar
Meal #4- other half of the protein bar
Meal #5 (dinner)- anything you want in moderation. make sure it includes one sorce of protien.

You can't build muscle around your knee to make it stronger. You can improve the overall strength of your legs though with squats. They are the best exercise for your legs. Start doing them with light weights (10-15 lbs) gradually move your way up. 3 reps of 10 every 3 days.

Wild and rigorous sex with your one and only...

the best work out for your age would be a jog, bike ride, or juming on a trampoline!

AM is better since you'll feel better throughout the day. Eating just three healthy meals a day can help.

hi get yourself a lateral thy trainer (i dont now how to spell it) they are cheap and great

just run and eat right. i would bench and do military press if you want to gain arm muscles

Try any 'power 90' workout videos, they are supposed to be really good for loosing weight and toning (not so much building muscle) and they are also fairly motivational.

Best time to workout - morning before breakfast , as you will have little or not food and fat will burn instead.

To build muscle in the legs do light running and a few squats but dont over do it.

I think the best time to workout is PM because you're much more concentrate and obviously you are more focused.
I think you need some swimming , until your knee will be able to suffer the pressure of the gym.

Any program that uses resistance and cardio training will be good. Best is a program that combines diet and exercise. For ladies there is an excellent comparison/review at http://www.makemeskinnyagain.com

Also dont know if you have children but if so you can check fit yummy mummy.com

i think u should figure out what execises work the best for your body, and do them every day. the key is to stick with it, don't give up,but don't over do it. lots of people think that the harder you work out the better, but thats not true. you are not suppose to strain your body. just exercise for about 15-30min every day, or whatever is best for you, and you will begim to see the results.
