Whats the best exercise for this?!


Question: well i am actually pretty solid, i play football and run but i developed a beer gut after consuming alot of alcohol after my high school graduation december last year, are there any specific exercises i can do at the gym to get rid of it? i do vertical sit ups so what else can i do?


Answers: well i am actually pretty solid, i play football and run but i developed a beer gut after consuming alot of alcohol after my high school graduation december last year, are there any specific exercises i can do at the gym to get rid of it? i do vertical sit ups so what else can i do?

Any form of high intensity cardio will get rid of it. You can't actually 'spot' reduce fat, meaning you can't lose fat from a specific area.
Go for a run, swim, ride a bike, row.... remember to keep the intensity up.

Sit ups will only strenghen your abdominal muscles and won't help you get rid of it at all very much (common misconception).

The machine you want for that is the treadmilll, running machine, rowing machine or generally any type of exercise.

Aim for 80% of your Maximum heart reate (calculate that from 220-yourage=Maximum heart rate) which will put you in the optimum zone for weight loss. Aim for between 25 to 30 minute sessions as regularly as possible and watch the amount of callories you're taking especially in beer!

You're right to want to deal with that beer belly as it's fat there which is the worst in terms of health risks (such as heart attacks and diabetes). ;-)

Course that's just my opinion as to what you should do. I'm not qualified to give out advice ;-)
