"Abs" are all one muscle, contrary to the belief that it's split into sections. But you can work each part of that muscle.
To work the upper section, you should do crunches on an exercise ball. You put the mid part of your lower back on the ball and do crunches. Make sure to keep your knees together. It's easier to put your hands behind your head than across your chest.
To work the lower section, you should do leg lifts. You lay on the ground on your back. Put your hands under your butt / thighs to hold them down. You lift your legs slowly up to about a 45 degree angle and hold them there as long as you can. Then slowly put them back down. Just repeat that. I feel it's easy and effective to count to five as you pull your legs up, then count to 5 as you hold them in place, then count to 5 as you let them down.

well, i heard that running can give you a nice sculpted abdomen. im not saying to go running for like 5 miles everyday, that would be unhealthy. you can also do situps or crunches. a nice jog during the day, and some situps at night might work. try that.

Do you have a layer of fat over your stomach? Most people do and want amazing abs anyway...if that is the case for you, I would recommend losing the fat first.
If thats not the case, stick to crunches and HIIT interval training. I wouldn't bother with any gimmicky ab trainer you see on tv.
