Summer is going to be sooner than you know it. How can I lose 10-15 pounds?!

Question: I've been to the doctor about it, and they said I'm at risk for diabetes. I weight almost as much as my mother, and I'm 12 years old. I'm 5'.25", and I weigh 162.2 pounds. Yeah, I know, it's pretty bad. I used to be suicidal because people teased me all the time because of how "fat" I was, and some boys have even rejected me for my weight. :(
Last year I even missed a swimming field trip with my class because I thought I was fat--and I lied and said that I didn't feel good. In September I started Jr. High---BIG CHANGE!
People teased me waaay more, and it has gotten worse and worse. I want to feel confident this spring and summer.
I want to be able to wear a swimming suit and feel great. Please don't tell me that I'm just growing up and my body is going through a change. You know how most 11 year olds don't have zits and are thin and boney? I'm the exact opposite. Zits are all over my face--and I'm 162 pounds! Please help me! This is a total struggle!

I don't think you are too young to go on a diet. Just take out the sweets and eat about 1300 calories a day. Your doctor should be able to give you a diet that would be good for you. You just have to stick to it. You sound pretty determine.. so that should be a issue.

As for working out..run on your track everyday after school. I would try to do 3 miles each day. Run, walk, run, walk. Eventually you should be able to run the whole 3 miles. You should be able to lose weight just fine ;)
