I'm really confused?!

Question: "You have 19.8% body fat.
You have 22.8 Pounds of fat and 92.2 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water)."

Does this mean I can lose 22.8 pounds and still be healthy? :S That doesn't make much sence to me because i'm 5'5 and 110-115 lbs (I entered 115 for the test). So I could weigh 92.2 lbs and have "lean meat" only? i'm kinda confused, help?

It means you are practically perfect.

Lets see; at 5'5" and 115 pounds, your BMI is 19. This is at the lower limit of 'healthy'. At 111 pounds it will drop below 18.5, so don't lose any overall weight.

What does it all mean? It means that 22.8 pounds of you are made of fat cells. This is used by the body as an energy reserve, to keep warm, to maintain hormone balance, and to protect from infection. The rest is the amount of muscle and water, which are variable, and connective tissues such as bone, which is not variable.

Now, as to the fat percentage. A healthy active female should have somewhere between 12 and 24% body fat. The experts argue about exact figures. By some of the stricter thinking, you would be at the edge of 'athletic' [14 to 20%], and some even go as low as 12% for female athletes, but this is potentially unhealthy. [underfat females develop menstrual problems, fertility problems, and can become masculinized]

If you want to lose some fat, that is fine as far as it goes, just don't lose any more weight. I suggest adding an aerobic activity 3 times weekly, and a 3 times weekly weight lifitng program. This will trim off some fat, and add muscle at the same time. You could, for instance, add 5 pounds of muscle and lose 5 pounds of fat, which would put you at the same BMI [19] and drop your body fat percentage to 15%. This is still well within the healthy ranges.

No, because as a female, we NEED body fat. You can't lose 22 lbs and be healthy. The fat is necessary for energy. You sound slim, so don't even worry about losing more weight. You're perfect.

You have something which is called essential body fat. This is the percentage necessary to sustain life.

This percentage depends on age and sex.

Generally you will have a certain percentage of body fat which you are most comfortable.

You, nor anybody could not live with 0% body fat.

It means if you lost 22.8 pounds of body fat you would be dead. But you wouldn't lose it since it's impossible.

I think in his prime Mike Tyson was like 4% and I've seen some really skinny people at 6-8%. The lowest I've ever been was 11-12%

So for a female I'd say stick around 15-20%

it does not depend on how much u work out! its the foods that u eat that will make you fat! fat is yeast! sugar feeds yeast! look if u really want to loose that fat ---get in touch with me for i can and will help!

dont do that if your 110-115 pounds your perfect dont try to loose . be good to yourself!!!!!!!!!!

Simple answer is no. Bye loosing weight you will also loose muscle unless you exercise a hell of a lot and even then it wouldnt be healthy. from previous questions i could say your anorexic. but then im not going to give you stick for that because who am i to talk. if you really wanna loose weight why dont you aim for that 22.8 pounds and then see how much body fat you have. if you still have body fat then atleast your 22.8 pounds lighter :P xxxxxxxxx
