I want to play football but I am short and skinny.?!

Question: I am 13, 5 ft, and 85 pounds. That is pretty skinny. Football is my passion. I am going to try out for a fooball team that have huge guys on it. I need to get bigger before football season starts. Is there a good diet I can follow, because I have tried everything. I have stuffed myself with junk food but it wont work. I love football and I really want to play. Please help me bulk up.

Bulking up eh? At the age of 13, I'd let yourself naturally grow for a bit since lifting weights may stunt your growth (which would mean you probably wouldn't get to the desired height and size you want). Don't eat junk food though, that does nothing to help you bulk up. Eat healthy foods, eggs, chicken and stuff high in protein. Football athletes don't get to where they are eating lots of mcdonalds. Besides there's lots of positions you could play that wouldn't require you to be massive. Generally you only need to be massive on defense/offense. If you're a Quarter Back (good at pinpointing opportunities to pass precisely to your team) or even Running Back (one of the fastest players who often look for loops to slip through and catch short yardage passes).

If football is your passion, you'll find a spot where you'll fit in, as for getting bulky, give yourself some time to grow, you're still pretty young, but hey, if you're fast and slippery, you're probably better off not as huge as the other guys ;)

Doesn't matter, as long as you try hard, and like it, your build shouldnt stop you from doing what you want

lots of protein and exercise to build muscle...

or you could work to improve speed instead and be a running back or something

don't do the whole junk food thing. it will only make you fat.
if you want to bulk up, eat protein like eggs and chicken, eat a good amount of healthy food a day like 2000 calories worth. and lift weights! lifting weights will keep you from getting injured and will help you play better.

you don't have to be huge to play football too. you can play secondary posistions or be a running back or reciever. or even a kicker! good luck!

Dude you don't need to be big as long as your really fast you go it made.Trust me once you gain them pounds its hard to lose them
