Well in general to lose weight athletics help; not being mean at all, but in general the males who play football considering 700-1500 calories can be burned in a game depending on intensity and how long they play. There are girls who play and same applys to them. In general you probably need even more exercise to loose weight, I learned that, for the most part, your goal should be getting better at the athletics instead of loosing weight. Eating healthy only can contribute to the power you'll gain. True be told, dieting far as changing entirely what you eat isn't nessary, but instead setting a limit on calorie intake such as 1500-2000 max, or drinking water before n after meals to kill unessary eating. -_- used to drink plenty of water all the time to help avoid hunger for things besides breakfast, lunch and dinner, and if I wanted a snack I'd just do some cardio, and wait for something.

So yes exericise is nessary to loose weight at a fiesable speed.

I'm sorry there is jerk wads or *** holes above who didn't read anything you put. You said your in atheletics and atheletic practice in most places lasts an hour n thirty minutes to three hours. They are being ignorant. Sorry friend. Maybe if people read things they wouldn't be dumb shits.

um no, you dont weigh that much when your 13 liar

depends on were you are trying to lose weight

i dont beleive you!

u tubby girl

i recommend disco dancing

Wow you must be like 5'10 or taller

You have to eat healthy as well.
It's sort of pointless if you play sports and whatnot and then go home and eat a bag of greasy chips and a load of chocolate chip cookies.
Also, watch out for fruit drinks. Loaded with calories and sugar.

Lol come on. Im 15 years old(as you can see) and weigh 115 lbs. You have to eat healty of course. You can't eat all of this junk food and still lose weight. You also have to excercise. DUH. come on dude.

You need to be exercising in your sport of choice and sweating for AT LEAST 30-45 minutes per day, 5 days a week, which is really just for genera health. If your sport is something light like gold, and not something really active like running, competitive tennis, basketball, etc. If you want to lose weight, you really will need to start eating better. Also, take a long, fast walk on the weekends.

Well if you havent been working out before you joined atheletics then you will loose weight but you really need to start eating healthy if you want to slim down.

no offense but for the age of 13 and you weigh 267, thats a little over weight. The best way to lose weight is to eat right (cut down the snacks and have smaller portions) and to exercise. If you hate exercise, then try to find fun ones like a sport or swimming.

You ARE what you eat.....guaranteed. Your body is like a car. It runs. Night and day, your organs are running, etc.

It needs fuel. Like a car needs fuel to run. The faster it runs, the more fuel it burns. The slower it runs, the less fuel it burns. Same with you. If you do not burn the amount of calories (your fuel) you eat, you will store the calories as fat. Pure and simple.

You may be in athletics, but you are not active enough except for when you are at practice or games. Don't know what athletics you are in. Could be baseball which isn't very active in the middle of winter.!!

Anyhow. As I said. You need to begin a rigorous exercise program, cut all fats/oils from your diet.....means no, nothing fried (no pizzas, chips, fast foods of any kind.) absolutely nothing fried. Fat goes to fat. Nothing else. Watch your carbs as carbs turn to sugar in your body because sugar in your body is your fuel. What it doesn't burn because you are sitting playing that video game or talking on My Place, will be stored as fat.

You have it, pure and simple. Eat no more than 2000 cal/day. Begin looking at labels and portions and the kinds of food you eat. Load up on veggies of all kinds. Load up on skinless chicken, pork or fish. You need not go hungry.

Eat nothing made from sugar.

Eat healthy, exercise regularly. You are way too heavy for a 13 year old......athletics or not.

I am an RN

In order to lose weight, you have to adjust your eating habits. There is absolutely no way around it. Sure, you might lose a couple of pounds initially, going from being sedative to playing a sport, but the weight loss will be minimal and will stop completely in a short time if you're eating habits aren't changed. A person can't eat whatever junk they want and expect to burn it off playing a sport.

Eating healthy is almost as an integral part of losing weight as exercise.

yes, you can lose weight in athletics... but you also have to exercise outside of school.
do aerobic exercises.. they help you lose weight more. some gyms have aerobic classes for teens, go check them out. you can also take dancing classes or just dance at home, but you have to do it regularly for at least 30 mins at a time.
yes, you have to eat healthy - lean meats (chicken, fish), vegetables, fruit, multigrain bread, brown rice, plenty of water!
also avoid food with high sugar content - candy, soft drinks, some fruit juices in the little box containers (go for freshly squeezed fruit juice), cookies, cakes..
good luck!
