Anyone else ever binge on a whole jar of peanut butter?!


Question: i ate a whole jar + some last night of the "natural" stuff in addition to stuffing myself with protien bars. i dunno why i did it and ive been trying to figure out how i let myself do this. i mean im in really good shape and i usually eat healthy all the time, like 2500 cals per day and ive been making some decient muscle gains and all, its just last night i sat on my sofa and ate a whole jar plus all the other junk prob added up to 5000 calories i imagne. i knew it was bad for me to do but last night my attitude was like "who cares". anyone else ever binge on pb this bad? ive never ate more than 1 jar in night until last night, its crazy why would i do it? so weird those cravings, anyways im about to go do some cardio to burn off some of the junk (i know ive screwed myself by at least a pound of fat). all answers appreciated

yup i am heavy into weights, and i do this. I think it is a combination of strict diet controls and calorie craving. I eat 7 times a day tuna/baked potato, etc etc all pretty bland stuff....protein protein protein!!!!! However although i am eating 2700 calories a day I think some days I am in defecit and this starts this urge, the other is because a bodybuilders diet is less than glamorous!, and things like peanut butter is the sweet stuff you tend to have lying around!!! i tenge to binge on that or nuts or and this is weird bananas!!!!

um... no. i dont think thats healthy

yeah i am the same well not with peanut butter but other food usually carbs like pasta and bread. but i do looove peanutbutter. i get that who cares feeling aswell when the next day i really do care! when i start to feel like eating things i shouldnt i drink loads of water or green tea so i dont actually feel like eating or brush my teeth so the food wouldnt taste as good.

wow, no I have never eaten more than a spoonful of PB at 1 time. I do however eat a whole bag of Wise salt and vinegar chips YUMMMM!

Well, you could look on the jar to see how many calories is in it. Make a mental note not to binge like that again... and if you really want to make a stop you can put post-it notes on the jars you get with little messages convincing you not to binge! I did that with chocolate bars once. XD And as an answer to your question... I've never tried peanut butter. It doesn't really appeal to me.
But you sound very healthy if you only eat 2500 calories a day. Happy non-binging!
Or you could perhaps quit peanut butter for a while and then once you feel confident you won't do it again start buying it. ^^

I never binge on a whole jar. Traditionally, the first spoon of peanut butter in a new jar is MINE. That's how I get the craving out of may system. I admit I'd prefer if the jars were smaller. I'd get more of those FIRST spoonfuls.

i used to like peanut butter so much, i just kept eating it out of the jar with my fingers and a spoon but i never finished off an entire jar!

I stopped eating peanut butter as a whole, and now i never crave it. the thought of binging on peanut butter grosses me out now. if you feel like u may have another peanut butter binge in hte future, try avoiding it as a whole. it will be hard at first, but easy and worth it in the end.

anyway, i am not a peanut butter fan but i ate a jar of nutella in one sitting. This was when i went to Macau as toursit, it was 4deg, and there was no food in the fridge, i was just hungry.

i think you are trying hard to stay as healthy as you can be. that is really great but you might be stressing it out a bit (or something else might be bothering you).

maybe its time to see a counselor or shrink?

I love the stuff...but hey..only in moderation. So do yourself a favour.

Wow, I'm the same way. Never a jar of peanut butter, but try three sundaes or four slices of pie or something ridiculous. I think hey, I can burn this off tomorrow, so enjoy myself now. The next day I feel like total crap. It's like I have split personalities. One day I'll be like "Okay, going to eat healthy and lose those last couple of pounds" and then later that day, "Oh who cares, I don't NEED to lose those pounds, who am I trying to impress, bring on the food!" Then I eat until my stomach is literally sore, and feel like crap. And at the end of it, it's not even worth it because you just feel sick and fat, all for those couple minutes of "good tasting". And you don't even taste your food anymore after the first couple bites. I don't know why I do it. I'm trying to break it. So far, I've been pretty successful, except for some occasional days.
