How to lose inches around my tummy?!

Question: My wedding is coming up in October. But my focus now, is on my engagement pictures in May. I have gained some 'happy' weight over the few years that my fiance and I have together. I recently started going to the gym and have also started the slim fast diet ( which is kind of embarrasing)! I never thought I would do such a thing but I am. I am also following a suggest workout plan given by brides.com. The suggest workout plan is cardio for 20 mins with a 5 min warm up. And also some weight lifting, but only for toning! I have been also doing callenetics on my days off from the gym. My calorie intake is 1100-1300 calories a day. When I first started my workout I weighed 145 lbs. Last night at my workout I weighed 148 lbs. and have not seen any inches lost! I want to lose inches around my stomach and get my hourglass figure back! I am also really worried about back cleavage! Am I doing anything right??? Please help me!!! any good advice to help me loose inches and tone up!

It is best to weight yourself once a week, always at the same time (ideally when you get up in the morning).

Walking is the best exercise to loose fat. A Phd in physical education informed me of that and I was very surprised.

I suggest that you walk more. I personnally do 1 hour a day and it makes a big difference; my waist is shrinking faster than when I used to do aerobics and weight lifting.

There are some excellent DVDs on the market, I like the ones from www.beachbody.com

www.fitday.com is FREE and has everything you need, including how much protein, fat and carbs you should eat, and how much calories. I agree that 1200 is better than 1100, especially if you are working out.

1. walk (if you have a dog you found a faithful walking buddy)
2. drink at least 2 liters of water a day (it helps flush the fat)
3. avoid fried foods
4. fill 1/2 your plate with vegetables, 1/4 with lean meats (chicken, fish or tofu) and the remaining 1/4 with either potatoes, brown rice or whole wheat noodles.
5. stick with whole wheat bread and low fat margarine
6. stay away from sugar.
7. eat snacks (ideally: low fat yogourt or low fat cheese with a fruit) twice daily.

Muscles weigh more than fat, so you might loose fat but it might not be showing on the scale. Your clothes will start to feel loose soon.

If you eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks a day, and you keep drinking water, you will not be as hungry and it will be easy.

Good luck!

Your cardio should be more than 20 minutes. Also 1200 you shouldn't do 1100. I recommend 45 minutes of cardio a day, or 30 of intense. Also slim fast isn't embarrassing, you wanna look good. Also have you tried alli (its fda approved) it blocks 25% of the fat which is pretty darn good. Also if you hit a plateau you have incorporate other diet pills I know they get a bad light but used properly there not bad. Lipo6x is really good.
