Atkins diet?!


Question: I was thinking about doing the atkins diet to lose some weight, although I have heard it is pretty hard for most people. I know that you can't eat carbs, but that's about all i know. Can anyone fill me in and maybe give me some info on how about to start this diet on my own?

The Atkins diet works but it's hard to maintain it for long periods of time. Plus, once you get off of it the weight comes right back. It's a very restrictive diet without a lot of variety. Basically you can eat all the fat you want but no carbs. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no potatoes, etc. Also no sugar. No milk either. It gets pretty boring and you get tired of eating the same thing over and over again. It also throws off your digestive system. Your best bet is to learn how to eat healthy and in moderation and to stick to an exercise routine. Most people do fine losing weight that way, it just takes a little longer that the Atkins diet way. However, if you make it a lifestyle change there's a better chance of you keeping the weight off.

Most carbs are in bread! & the atkins diet is bad for your health.It is hard too carbs are in alot.And not eatings carbs means not eating alot of food so it could make you loose energey and more.try just regular dieting.

i dont know much about the "Atkins" diet but i do know of a really good diet support website where you can ask lots of people there about it....

IT like most diets is a waste of time and does not give long lasting results. the way to lose weight is to consume less energy than you use, by eating a varied diet of fresh non-processed foods and taking exercise.

Your best bet is to pick up a copy of the book (you can get it used for a couple of bucks, or borrow it from the library) and read it carefully. You need to understand why it works and how it is done. You also need to realize that it is not intended to be a short-term, quick weight loss diet but a permanent lifestyle change.

If you are willing to commit to it, Atkins is great.

i wouldn't recommend it. you should cut down on dairy, meat, and all animal by products..especially meat. you will lose weight. i guarantee it. i lost a good amount of wight.
