I am not flexible either, so I am in the same boat. The dvd I use is called Yoga for Inflexible People (http://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Inflexible-Pe... It is an Iyengar yoga dvd so the focus is on the form, but may seem slow paced if you are looking for a power yoga dvd. It uses props such as blocks, straps, blankets, and chairs to modify forms for those of us that have issues touching our toes. I found that after a few weeks I have been able to remove some of the props (e.g. the chair) as i have become more flexible.

Try www.half.com, click on DVDs and type yoga. You can look through a lot of titles, some of them are very inexpensive, from $2-$5 USD. Look for ones that say beginner's yoga or basic yoga.

I have tried Suzanne Deason's "Easy Yoga" and I like it very much. You will need a yoga block, a strap, and a mat. I found mine on the website below, but you can look her up on other websites too. She's excellent.

There are also some balance ball DVD's on the same site I list that are great for increasing flexibility and are easy to learn. They incorporate both yoga and pilates positions in their routines. For them you need a stability ball that's right fo your height, and you can use the same mat you use for yoga so the cost doesn't keep adding up. Suzanne Deason makes these as well, and there are lots of other instructors listed as well, but I find her style to be very easy to follow and she films on location (outdoors) in beautiful places like Maui and Arizona.

Good luck!

Firstly, I must say that I think a beginners class is the best way to go. You can ask questions and the instructor will watch for important corrections to keep you from injury.

However, I can also think of a couple of easy yoga DVD's that I have seen through Netflix that you may want to look into.

One is the "10 Minute Solution: Yoga" video with Lara Hudson.

The other is "Crunch: Candlelight Yoga" with Sarah Ivanhoe.

I'm sure there are many more but these are just two that came to my head and should be easy to find and follow. You can read more about these videos through the links below:

Ultimately, remember that all yogis (beginners and up) must listen closely to their bodies and even those with experience have days/weeks of poor flexibility. But yoga is wonderful for many people so congrats on your interest!

It sounds silly but Yoga for Dummies is really good and it has 2 workouts on it so when you have mastered one you can move up to the slightly harder second one.
