I am just getting fatter and fatter?!

Question: I have 2 questions:

1. It doesn't matter how many calories I eat my body just seems to just get less toned. Last year, I could eat basically whatever I wanted and I was very skinny and toned. I ate at least 1500 calories a day and I didn't notice a difference in my body if I ate more. Is it because of my metabolism that I can't now? I started eating less than 1500 calories last year in december and since then it has been like 1500 calories then 1800 then 1200. I do exercise so I don't know why my body is becoming less toned! I am still skinny, just really not toned no matter how many pressups or whatever I do.

2. Is it normal that my body changes literally overnight? Sometimes im scared of going to sleep because im worried i'll be fat the next day. I don't weigh myself everyday but I do measure myself and my measurements always change. Why is this and is it normal?

This is not normal and you need to see a Doctor about this. No matter how many calories you eat watch your sodium intake. Your fluctuation in measurements is probably due to water retention. Eat a steady amount of salt/sodium and see if this still fluctuates. Also, you are eating a very very very small amount if you are only taking in 1,200 calories. You might not be fueling your body to see any results from exercise. Your body needs carbs and protein in order to build muscle mass and if you are not feeding your muscles properly they will not be able to grow. You should be eating 2,000 calories minimum and if you are very active and exercise regularly you need to up that to around 2,500. Fat will accumulate on your body no matter what but muscle will not. Remember that muscle burns fat reserves. Don't just do cardio but also incorporate some resistance/weight training. Good luck.

You should go get your thyroid checked. It's not normal for a body to change that rapidly.

Do regular exercise. Running, skipping, push ups, gym etc.

Go see a nutritionist

yes. it is because of your metabolism.

It's possible that your metabolism is slowing down. That happens to people as they get older. The only way to prevent it from happening is to eat healthy (don't eat LESS, just eat HEALTHIER) and to exercise more. Do cardio (i.e. jogging for 45 minutes in a row) rather than lifting weights.

It's normal to lose or gain up to 10 pounds over the course of one day and night, so don't worry about that. You can't get fat overnight.

This can only mean that your workout is not properly created for your body. read some books and engineer a proper workout regimen.

you have to give more details like your age and what exercise you do...

How old are you, because I am 28 and it is slowly becoming harder and harder to stay in shape. A couple days of bad eating sets me back weeks, literally. You really have to stay on it......

You may also have just become really self conscious it sounds like you are tough on yourself......maybe you have a slight disorder, not to be mean just another consideration!

Get a weight bench, pull up bar, and a ab lounge that is my set for success!

Right now, i am having the SAME problem. a few months ago i was SO skinny and i ate whateva the hell i wanted, now im gaining and my abs are going away. what the hell! Im actually to the point where im doing OD excersises, and on diet pills and watching my food intake.

yes u better consult a doctor, before getting attacked by any problem, there might be some hormonal problem, which can be cured

The key to losing weight isn't to eat less, but to eat more frequently. Eat small healthy, high protein meals, about six times a day. This will speed up your metabolism, and help your body burn fat. Exercise is also essential. You should be doing some form of exercise at least three times a week.

How old are you? If you are a kid, maybe see a doctor.

If you are an adult... we just don't stay looking the way we do when we're a kid. It's a horrible realization when it comes, but it's reality. Once you get past your mid-to-late twenties things just change. Of course, there is always the exceptional looking woman, but they are few and far between.

The first thing I would do is go see your doctor and have a physical as well as blood tests to check your thyroid to see if there is something wrong with you.

A dietician can also look at your diet to see what kind of foods you are eating. If you arent eating enough protien or garbage or not enough calories your body will eat your muscle leading to no toning.

I would make an appointment with a therapist because it sounds like you have a body dismorphia condition. If you are scared to go to sleep because you will wake up fat, there is a serious underlying issue.

good luck

STOP OBESESSING!!! If you want a more tonned body, go to the gym and lift weights. So simple...and make sure you eat carbs if you do that....whole grain, though.
Good luck!

it really depends on what foods youre eating. make sure you dont eat empty calories and be sure to get some exercise everyday. it is very possible the foods you consumed when you ate whatever you wanted are beginning to take a toll on your body now. just be kind to your body and feed it the nutrients it needs, then stop eating. once you change your diet, you'll probably feel better overall--not just about your weight.

just dont let your weight get to you. i have a feeling youre beginning to lose some self esteem over this, but keep in mind losing your self esteem does nothing to help you.

I have no scientific basis but 1 dont think our bodies change overnight, referring to my experience and what I already know, probably the changes in your weight in a short period of time is due to what you just ate.
Regarding your desire to get your body toned, I suggest you do exercises that require multiple muscle groups such as squats, clean and press, deadlift, pull-ups... these would increase your metabolism because these exercises would build muscles and muscles need energy thus increasing your metabolism.
Doing these exercises thrice a week wont make you look like Arnold though, you
