Can I become a little less flabby?!

Question: I'm about 60lbs over weight and currently on the weight watchers program. I've lost 5lbs in the past few weeks on this program.
For the past 5 years I've been struggling with weight loss, I'm 20 years old (soon to be 21) and Its really not healthy for me (or anyone) to be this overweight. I'm not just losing weight in order to improve my physical apperance, I'm losing weight to improve my over-all health.

I'm going to Disney World in May of this year. While I am working to lose this weight, I realize that I am not going to have the body of a model in the next two months. Losing all my weight by then is an unrealistic goal. I would however like to become a little bit less flabby! lol. I mean, I see people more over weight than me who are able to wear shorts and show their arms and legs a little bit, and they dont look repulsive.

Would increasing my strength-type exercises help me achieve my goal of becoming less 'flabby' and make my shape look a little nicer?

Resistance training ( weights) will help tone you up. I usually on here don't say my weight but I'm 170 lb and very toned with some padding over the top.I don't have flabby arms & no celulite on my thighs which I didn't think was possible till the other day when I noticed it, considering I'm cuddly :)

All due to weight training
I'm 42 yr old fitness instructor & karate sensai so I hit the gym hard ( I love the weights). I just have the genetics in my family to be cuddly and have 2 kids who got me this way :)

Just run. Strength training will buff you up underneath your current fat, and when you lose the flab you will look a bit masculine.

Absolutely! Strength training makes EVERYONE look better regardless of their size! And it doesn't take much--pick a 30 minute video and do that daily and you will notice a difference in 2-3 weeks. Additionally, the added muscle increases your base metabolism so that you burn more calories even when you are resting.

Go for it--what have you got to lose?!

Well,,,you also have to eat healthier...workout everyday...and going to workout with friends is easier...maybe you can go to some kind of health doctor and he can give you tips and stuff....vegetables and fruit are a big part of weight loss...and if you want to lose weight you have to eat..especially breakfast even when you dont want to...Eating breakfast gives you energy and having a higher metabolism is very very good for weight loss....!
