How important is it to have your 8 glasses of water a day when slimming?!

Question: Folin, I've seen that too.
It's called "Should I worry about?"

And yes, following that, 8 glasses of water doesn't really make you slimmer, more beautiful and as such. And it doesn't really help you with losing weight.

That was a scientifically controlled test, with twins, and as Folin said, neither were different after one drank more water.

Obviously I am not saying that just cause one television show said so you should immediately say no, of course not. But it would seem so with the evidence.

IF the source shows up (I'm new to this you see), then you can check :D

Very
Think of it like washing your insides.

I think it helps, but it isn't critical. It won't help you drop a lot more weight.

Very important id say, it flushes your body of all the toxins and helps curb your appetite. Well it works for me any way.

OMG sooo important!

You know what, if I eat a chocolate bar one day it makes no difference as long as I have my 8 glasses. I tend to just have a big bottle of water instead of 'glasses' but it helps sooo much.

If I don't have it, my body knows the difference. It totally keeps my weight off - it is like my secret to keeping slim!

If you don't stay active or eat healthily, the least you can do to get slim (or stay slim) is drink 8 glasses of water and get plenty of sleep =]

Wow ! Really?? Water is essential to the smooth and efficient functioning of your whole body though !! I would say that it is crucial to your slimming efforts and will most definitely help you on your quest to slim down ? Water performs an amazng range of tasks in our bodies.

~ Your skin will be smoother, softer and more supple when it is properly hydrated. As water reaches the skin last, it will suffer the most from dehydration.

~ Each of us needs to drink around 2 litres of water every day, just to keep everything working as it should. With so much of our lives depending on it, a good and pure fresh filtered source of water is also good for your peace of mind. If you have a nutritious and healthy diet including a variety of fresh fruit and vegies then that will account for approximately 20% of your water intake.

~ Your eyes, mouth and nasal passages need water to keep them moist and working properly;

~ Joints need water for lubrication and cushioning protection in the soft tissues;

~ Blood is mostly water. If you don't drink enough water, the volume of blood can fall. A drop of 4% in your blood volume reduces the body's ability to function by 33 percent;

~ Kidneys need water to flush toxins and waste products out of the body;

~ The brain is 3/4 water. Concentration, memory and reaction times benefit from proper hydration;

~ Muscles need oxygen. Drinking enough water helps the blood transport oxygen and other valuable substances;

~ The heart is cushioned by water. If you don't drink enough, your blood can become thicker, making the heart work harder and increasing the rish of dangerous clots.

~ Your digestive tract and tummy will also be put at a huge disadvantage without enough water to perform at peak levels, resulting in digestive disturbances and constipation;

~ Each and every cellular function your body performs requires water to smooth the process and make every function timely and efficient. Try also reading a book called "The Water cure" by a Dr. Batmanghelidj, brilliant read, astoundingly scary and true too?

CHEERS

The 8 glasses of water is what everyone should aim to drink a day, not just slimmers.....

super important. Every time you get hungry, have a big glass of water before you eat anything. After dinner, have some soda water with lemon juice in it to cleanse your palate.

If you're drinking enough water, then it will flush out toxins, purify your skin, fill you up, flush out your kidneys, and help you to poo regularly.

8 glasses a day are the minimum you are supposed to drink. As part of a diet especially if training too then it is very important to drink plenty fluids, aim for approx 3 litres a day to stay properly hydrated and stave of hunger pangs! Remember eating healthy and regular is the best way to diet instead of starving or fad dieting! J

Well dont know if you remebr watching a programme on bbc 1 about diets?

They were testing 2 identical twin girls

scientists tested their skins, metabolism, weight, everything before undertaking the task

1 Twin only drank 1 glass of water a day for 3 months

and the other twin drank 8 glass water a day for 3 months

the result showed, drinking 8 glass water doesnt actually do anything good for your skin. the skin was still same as before, doesnt wash away toxins, dont lose or add on weight.

Its all a myth.

you can still drink how much you want.

my friend drank 8 glass of water and had vertigo next day.

Quite important I'd say so because it kind of detoxes your body, Flushes and gets rid of all the bad toxins lurking around in your body :) So drink up! If you find it hard to drink plain water add a little of 'No added sugar' squash to give it more flavour :)

U should have eight glasses of water as a routine i.e. even when u r not slimming.

Some doctors and dieticians are now saying it isn't important. Just drink when you are thirsty. A lot of food (fruit, veg) are mostly water anyway.
