Is this Anorexia?!

Question: I'm not exactly sure what this is, but people have said I have it.

I weigh myself constantly. The only things I eat/drink are vegetable juice, apples, grapes and diet soda and vitamins. And I only eat after three PM but no later than Seven p.m

I'm always striving for a lesser weight after I've reached my last goal.

I exercise until I burn off more calories than I consumed.

I look at myself in the mirror for a long time, poking myself.

I'm always tired and weak. I always feel guilty after I've eaten, no matter what it is. I've even made myself throw up once or twice out of guilt.

I'm intensely afraid that when I put something in my mouth that I'll gain fifty pounds instantly.

Is this anorexia? I've been like this for a long time and I guess I never considered it as something bad like people are saying it is. If it isn't, then what is anorexia? And why do people say that I have an eating problem?

Coming from a former Anorexic since the age of 13 up til the age of 30- yes I can say you have a problem. Please talk to someone and get this under control now expecially before it turns into Bulimia which can be worse than anorexia.

What happens is your body will start turning against itself and your internal organs start feeding off of one another and then the next thing you know you are in the hospital on a feeding tube. NO FUN!! You can die too. People don't realize the seriousness of it all. I was very fortunate, but I also had a friend that died of Bulimia at the age of 16 and that scared me to death. I stopped for awhile and was back at it again. My last time was around 30 when I was under a tremendous amount of stress. I did heavy martial Arts, lifted weights, ran until I nearly fell to the ground with no food at all and hardly any water, constantly weighing myself like every 5 minutes sometimes, looked like Fat everytime I looked in the mirrror, strived to get thinner and thinner and still saw fat in the mirror. I finally kicked the habit by first throwing away my scales. That was one of the hardest thing I have ever had to do- I cried and begged my husband, but he made me go and do it with his help. I could not retrieve it afterwards because it was a very large stinky dumpster. I almost went in, but was good. Then I started doing less exercise and slowly started eating again. Then of course I got pregnant and that ended it all.

Well, what do you think it is? You're not that stupid I hope.

You definitely have a body image issue... you eat... if anything it would be considered exercise bulimia...

Well, people say you have an eating problem bc you do!

yes it is..
just learn tOO live with what yOu have..
its just seems sO riqht..

thats really bad
you dont need to excersize
you should eat more cause if your anorexic you can DIEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah sweetie, that sounds like anorexia. It's not just extreme dieting.. but that fear of gaining weight and guilt of eating. Get some help, it doesn't sound like you're in denial quite yet so you could easily get out! Good luck!!!

it sounds like you are on that path talk to someone and get help

This sounds like a case of anorexia. All the symptoms to it at least, however you failed to tell your age and weight, but you should go and check it out with a doctor. I know how it feels, ive been to a point where i almost starting what you would do. The best way is just to let it all go and try to keep your mind on other things rather than nit picking on what you eat. If that doesnt work get proffesional help like counseler. Goodluck

if people are concerned about you and you are questioning weather or not you have an eating disorder you should prob. go to the doctor ( a medical or "shrink" ) to help yourself.

YES! you have anorexia by what it sounds like. you seriously need help before you die. i know it sounds scary, but you have to tell people and get you fixed before its too late. you probably are too thin to be healthy. please get help.

You definitely have some type of eating disorder, but i'm not a doctor. You really should see someone about it though because it doesn't sound healthy.

yes, these are all symptoms of anorexia. it's not just the minimal eating. it's a state of mind.

don't listen to people who may comment on here rudely and tell you it's your fault. what you need is help. from a doctor AND some sort of psychiatrist. don't let this get any worse.

Oh my goodness! Yes it is, sadly enough!

Any time you're afraid to eat, constantly weighing yourself, and burning off more calories then you are consuming is a serious issue! [Anorexia]

i dont know why people need to get personal and talk about your intellect.

seems that you CLEARLY have an eating disorder. so what are you going to do to deal with it?

have you ever addressed your sexual abuse issues?

You do. All the symptoms are there. :[

see a doctor..

yes i'd say that that is anorexia,
its important to know though that you dont have to stay that way, id suggest that self discipline would be important and to try not and think about what you eat just eat like what the food pyramid says and what you like, the reason youre tired and weak is because your body isnt receiving the neccessary nutrients that it needs. so im telling you that if you put something in your mouth you wont gain 50 pounds instantly but youll eventually after id say about a month of stable eating and if you continue it youll be healthier and happier because of it and when youre healthier youll think about the food less
so it would take a lot of self discipline in order to do so but im sure you should just beleive in yourself and a lot of other people do too

Usually this is a result of something that is going wrong in your life now or in your past. You feel a loss of control and eating is that only thing that you can control. You need to know that we are all not perfect and that you need to forgive or accept the ones that you feel that you cant control. Google anorexia +self hep. Good luck

It might be anorexia, but whatever it is, it's not healthy. Chances are it will catch up to you at some point.

On the good side you consume a lot of carbohydrates. But you have almost no fiber or protein in your diet. Chances are the fat-soluble vitamins run right through you. They need healthy fats that are in meats, cheeses and nuts to attach to so your body can use them.

I would take some time to get to know what these's interactions do in your body. i get the feeling that you might be a little concerned but don't know quite were to start.

A couple of tips:
- Eating fats do not turn into fat. (Despite the names, they are two completely separate things). Generally, carbohydrates that are not used turn into fat. But you exercise so that's not a problem.
- If you exercise, fuel for the muscles is in the protein from your diet. No guy wants to see bones, but everyone likes a tight little body. (And using your muscles is one of the easiest ways to break down fat in your own body -- the body breaks down fat to use for fuel. But if you have no muscles, that never happens.
- Chances are that you have slowed down your metabolism to a dangerous level (so eating any food outside of your regular diet is going to make you gain serious weight) Contact a nutritionist at the local hospital. He/she will gladly talk to you without telling your parents or freaking you out. He/she will gladly help.
- You can speed up your metabolism (meaing you can eat food without gaining weight) But eat the right things. (for example: i eat about 3000 calories per day and can't gain weight because i eat small meals all the time and eat the right foods and then exercise. I'm 6'4 and about 170lbs, with slightly less than 6% bodyfat)
- Talk to someone about why you are concerned about your body image. there are deeper issues that can be addressed.
- People are right to be concerned about you. Your body needs more nutrition than you are giving it. you could destroy your chances of being really beautiful in 5-10 years because of what you're doing now.

Yes it is anorexia and if you don't know what it is, I can tell you it will probably kill you. I used to be something like that and it didn't turn out pretty. Your body will start dying slowly... And you know you're not fat or overweight, so if you can please please start eating a little more.

Duh!

But I'm just like you.... :/
