Unhealthy Eating?!

Question: Since I don't know any of you and you don't know me, this won't be embarrsing to ask.

Breakfast (7:AM): Glass of water. 0 Calories.

Lunch (12:50 P.M): Three Bottles of water. 0 Calories

Dinner (5: P.M): One glass of vegetable juice, three saltine crackers, an apple. Approx 185 Calories. I also eat one celery stick, which is actually negative calories since it burns more calories to chew and digest it than it has in the first place.

Just before 7 P.M. One glass of milk. Approx 280 calories.

I never eat before 3 P.M or after Seven P.M

Total for one day: approx 465 calories.

I drink water throughout the day and sometimes I chew gum, which is about five cals a stick. I also exercise to burn more calories than I consume.

Daily calorie averages vary. The most I consume is 1000 calories a day. If that.

What do you think? Are my friends right? Am I eating unhealthily? Should I cut back on the cals?

Can I ask a few question... do you actually feel happy inside doing this diet? Do you feel alert, fresh and ready during the day?

I can imagine the answer is no and this is down to your diet.

Calories help your body function and they are the only source of energy your body needs. It is as simple as that. If you starve yourself of energy (calories), your body will try to store any excess calories as fat MORE so than if you ate alot of food. It is a simple survival mechamism that the body uses.

You are eating unhealthly and you will feel unhappy if you do this for a long time. If you want to lose weight effectively, then eat alot of healthy food and do light cardio. I promise you a diet rich in lean meat, fresh vegetables and complex carbs and you will make you feel great and look great!

Don't be stupid, stupid. Looks like you might just die soon.

Sounds like you have anorexia.

are you kidding me

You dont have to starve to loose weight, ive lost 13 in the last ten days and i eat plenty.

Living on water and gum is only going to make you sick.

Just dont eat empty cals when you do eat. Keep eatting healthy, just eat more or you'll never loose anything.

This is very unhealthy you should be consuming at least double the amount of calories than you are at the moment. You may have a type of eating disorder but this will depend on if you have a fear of gaining weight if not then it is probably a good idea to eat a little more otherwise you could end up doing a lot of damage to your body x

How do you do that? YOU must be hungry all the time. I try to follow a similar plan but I always end up eating a really big meal or lots of snacks!

If you are normal weight then this may be anorexia. But if you are seriously obese then this might work. Just try to get more veggies and vitamins. And I don't see any protein in there! You need that to be healthy!

You are not eating enough and yes you are eating unhealthy. The average healthly daily calorie intake is 2000 calories. You will loose muscle tissue and be subject to other illness. Where's the protein for muscles? You have to eat a well balanced diet intake of carbs, good fats, veggies and so on. Sounds like to me you may be a little obcessed with watching your calories and your weight. Is there a reason for this? You can have just as many health problems if not more by starving yourself like that. If you are that worried about your calorie intake you need to go to the Doctor so he/she can advise you on what to eat. The rate you are going is not healthy at ALL :(

The water part is great, but your body needs food for energy, cell health etc... You need to eat probably a minimum of 1200 calories a day. Be sure and eat healthy food. Do you excersize? You may end up skinny, but skinny is NOT healthy. Can you run a 12 minute mile? or do 25 push ups without stopping? If the answers are no you are not healthy.

Hi,

I would say your setting yourself up for weight gain. I know your not eating right? Yea well not eating can actually make you gain more weight than eating. Let me explain a bit below.

When you do not eat much throughout the day your body slows down your metabolism to keep you alive longer. Keep you alive longer because your body thinks you are actually starving to death. Its a defensive mechnanism that acts to protect you and keep you alive longer.

If you were stranded in the woods with no food you would greatly appreciate this feature of your body right? Well your just trying to lose weight, and by not eating until 5 pm you are going to gain weight or stay the same at first.

In fact you might actually start losing some weight at first per haps, but dont be fooled because when you start eating again normally you will gain it back double. Do you know why this happens?

It happens because your body finally sees you are getting food and says "hey, I better store some extra fat so I dont starve to death the next time I am without food."

Trust me, what you are doing is not healthy. I would advise you stop right now and make minor but critical changes to the way you eat.

For breakfast I suggest you eat a bowl of Quaker Oatmeal as it supresses your hunger and is full of fiber and whole grains. This is very low fat and will not make you gain weight, instead you will start losing weight.

When you wat many small meals throughout the day it actually acts to raise your metabolism and burns more fat. If you have no food in your system your metabolism is slow and not at work. If you have too much food in your system your metabolism is working to burn the food away but its too much to handle and the excess is stored as fat.

So what do we do to get around this problem? Its simple, you eat a meal inbetween. No food makes your metabolism slow while too much stores extra fat. So what you need to do is eat around 3-6 small 250-300 calorie meals throughout the day.

Make sure these meals are lean and consist of lean meats, fruits, vegtables and whole grains. Stay away from any junk food as well as fast food.

Increase your exercise and you will lose weight. Losing weight does not have to be complex if you follow these steps. Anyways your deit needs to change, you will feel better and look better. Hope this helps.

Right now your body is in starvation mode due to the extremely low, lack of nutrients having, almost zero grams of protein diet plan you have come up with.

Yo also mentioned that you exercise to burn even more calories. You can quote me on this if you like. "Your day for passing out while you are exercising is coming, and it will be devastating to your body."

The amount of calories you are taking in is so low, that you don't even take in enough for your body to do its normal everyday functions. Something has to give, and it will give real soon if you do not adopt a healthier way of eating.

You are also waisting away precious lean muscle tissue that actually HELP you burn body fat, which is what your original diet you came up with was suppose to do.

Eat every 2.5 to 3 hours after breakfast, in small quantities consisting of lean protein (chicken, fish, lean beef), 1 serving of carbs and lots of green vegetables will help you drop body fat. Eat a protein rich snack between meals.
