I had my gallbladder taken out two years ago. I accidentally lifted something too heavy too soon and I started having complications afterward like having muscle pain on my right side. Or my scar tissues had been stretched. Please give you some time to heal. The only exercise I could do is walking. I started lifting weights about a year ago and I still get a slightly pain on my right side. It goes off and on. Well, some people get healed faster than the others. It depends. So take it easy on yourself. And hope you get well.

Just wait until you are able to do more extreme physical activity. For now do stretches and maybe lift some lighter weights at home. Good luck!

do push ups, better than lifting weights.

yeah, prolly a bad idea for now. Surgery is a big thing. If they said no lifting...dont do it, you might tear something open before it has a time to heal. You would be using muscles that are around the surgery area...not a good idea

Since you are very young, you will heal quickly, so give yourself a few weeks (months?) of light lifting and moderate exercise to regain your flexibility. Ask a technician at Curves to help you plan a routine and stick to it until you are able to increase your weights and repetitions.

You should ask your Doctor for his advice. He may suggest that it is okay but give you certain guidelines to follow as far ah what you can and can not do and a time-line also. You may be able to do some cardio exercises at least.

Best of luck to you. I hope you recover soon.
