Lifting is the essential of body building. and then diet. Eat 6 times a day with 8ounces of protein for each meal. (the size of your palm)

Also after working out, you need to feed your body 2/3s carbs, (good carbs) 1/3 protein. for example: tuna fish on whole wheat bread. Get at least one gram of protein for every pound you weigh. That's a minimum. So if you weigh 160 pounds, that's at least 160g of protein per day. Muscle is made of protein, so you have to eat protein to build it. (I'm 140 and try for 140g of protein a day. Meat, eggs (or egg whites/Egg Beaters), cottage cheese, and protein shakes are a great way to get it all in.
