I just can't lose any weight!?!

Question: Started out 5'8" 175 pounds on dec 25. Started the gym, 2 nights of 60 minute cardio classes plus abs on the machines for 45 minutes. 3 days a week - 75 minute yoga classes plus 30 minutes on the eleptical. the other 2 days I do 30 minutes on the eliptical and either 1 hour of arms/chest/back or legs/abs/back

And I have only lost 9 pounds?

I count every calorie I eat and I maintain 12-1300 a day.

What am I doing wrong?!?!?

You aren't doing anything wrong - maybe not eating quite enough calories (to my mind).

Ignore the scales, get yourself a tape measure.

You will find that you are losing the fat and gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat so you will be weighing more *but* your clothes will most likely be feeling a bit looser.

when i stated at a gym i stated gaining weight when i told my trainer this he said it was because my fat was turning into muscle, maybe that's what going on with you your losing but at the same time gaining muscle.

sounds like not enough cardio.. like real cardio. 2 nights..to lose weight you have to do at least 5-6 nights/ week of just cardio. yoga is good for flexibility and it does have some degree of cardio but to really burn it off you gotta do more cardio like elliptical, swimming, walking/running, cardio classes like spinning, kickboxing, rowing, exercise bike...stuff liek that. The yoga can be in addition to the cardio but do yoga but a shorter yoga class...also look at your supplements are you taking calcium? calcium may have some benefit to weight loss..also a multivit, b vitamins, just do some research on vitamins for weight loss and make sure you are getting that. Make sure you are gettign some good fiber to help the food move along your digestive tract and eat plenty of vegtables and just a few fruits. Lean meat, fish and poultry if you are not vegetarian...the best way is to write down everything you eat in amount , even if you have to weigh it on a scale. try this for a week or 2 and you should feel and see adifference. good luck

You are doing nothing wrong.
Just do more cardio.
maybe 30 minut's
