It depends on the diet you use.

According to the American Dietetic Association a healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week, but lets be honest thats not much in forms of results.

I would try some sort of macrobiotic/raw diet...

I recommend these because the emphasis is on fruits and veggies which provide many of the nutrients you need.

My mom lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks by eating fruits, veggies and cereal. She likes honey bunches of oats and ate 3 bowls a day with 2% milk, she also had 6 servings of fruits and veggies each day. This kept her from being overly full and also kept her from being hungry.

It also helps if you exercise. Try doing something you enjoy. If you like dancing you can get many types of dance videos, personally I liked using belly dancing for my exercise (I use the Goddess videos they were 15 on ebay when i bought them). You could also try walking, cycling, running etc etc. Just remember to start small and work your way up. Even if your exercise is parking in the back of the parking lot to walk extra each little bit helps.

ur a fatass

It all really depends on your body. Are you an Ectomorph? Mesomorph? Endomorph? Take a quiz here to find out:

If you are an Ecto you should be naturally skinny and not have any trouble losing weight by eating a normal diet and exercise.

If you are a Meso the same applies. Eat a clean diet devoid of sugars and high calorie foods and exercise regularly.

If you are an Endo you will have a much more difficult time, but it is still possible. Clean diet and exercise.

The best way to lose maximum fat and not lose too much muscle is to run a 500 calorie deficient. This means what ever the calories your body needs to maintain your current weight (maintenance calories), you eat 500 calories less than that a day. It is also suggested you eat many small meals (up to 6 a day) to help boost your metabolism. Find out your maintenance calories here: http://www.calorieking.com/tools/weight_...

Remember, keep your diet clean and rather low carb. No sugar if at all possible and low sodium. Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated and help with the fat loss. And exercise, exercise, exercise.

My dr. told me healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs. a week. This is harder than it seems, but one of the best ways is to start with breakfast to jumpstart your meatabolism. Then add fiber. This is one of the best ways to help weight loss. It will keep you feeling full and you need to try to aim for 35 grams.

Also B vitamins that are found in green veggies and nuts and beans increase metabolism. Excercise has got to be added to this, though. I am in the middle of your dilema and you need to surround yourself with those who will support you so try to find a workout buddy!!
