Does Ensure make you gain weight?!
Question: I've been diagnosed with anorexia three weeks ago, and I'm 5'1 and 85 pounds. Yesterday, my nutritionist told me to start drinking 3 Ensures a day in place of my milk serving. So I would drink Ensure instead of milk. One bottle is 220 calories. If it really does make you gain weight, why? Does it make you gain fat, muslce or just bone mass? How do they make you gain weight if all it is is milk and vitamins?

Ensure comes in a variety of flavors and nutritional values. It is packed with good things in one small can. Is a good,fast way to build back up your body. Is not going to make you fat if that is your worry. I know many who drink this just because they can't eat regular or proper meals. Is a really good source of nutrition.Good luck to you.I am sure you know that anorexia affects your entire being,teeth,hair,heart,kidneys etc. so is important to get nutrition into your body on a regular basis.
Yes Ensure is a nutritional booster and has was designed to help people gain weight. Don't question it honey, just drink it, you're sick and you need to get well. Anorexia is fatal if not treated. Good luck sweetie, and love yourself. None of us are perfect, you don't have to be either. By the way, being thin doesn't make you happy. You do.
when my family member had cancer he got very skinny and sick so they made him drink that. But it still didn't help and I think you know what happened in the ending.
