Is it healthy for a 14 year old girl that's 5'3 to be about 180 lbs?!

Question: The question says it all.

Answers: The question says it all.

I think that everyone has their own body type. Some people are just never going to thin (sadly). Just be very careful about believing that your stuck at a weight or that your family genes are making you fat (not that I'm calling you fat!) I'm just talking from personal experience. I was overweight my entire child hood, but finally at 23 I decided that I just couldn't gain anymore weight. I started out being just kinda chubby and really athletic but as I got older I just kept packing on pounds. So I started exercising and eating right and have lost a lot of weight. But because I waited so long to fix things it is going to take a while before I reach my goal weight.

I guess I'm telling you this because if I had the chance to do it over again then I would have made exercise a regular rutine and I would have completely cut sugar from my diet way back then. Something that might help you is to have 4 small meals a day instead of 3 regular ones? And never let yourself get to the point where you are starving because then your body will hold on to it's fat instead of burning it off. Drink lots of water and most importantly just be happy and enjoy your youth :)

no

the number 14 told it all. When girls dont have sex they eat sugar. Sugar turns to fat.

nah, but you are still young and can burn it off witth proper diet and exercise.

It's not healthy for anyone that's 5'3" to be 180 lbs, no matter how old they are.

wow sad to say but no....for someone to be 5'3 and weigh 180 is not really healthy and plus being a girl.

It depends on how much is muscle mass. If you are not very muscular then you are overweight based on your height and weight. Someone at this height should weigh no more than 150. And currently your BMI, body mass index is 31.9 which puts you in the obese category. However, you are still very young and have plenty of time to correct this before it causes major problems. Just start exercising and eating healthier. Good luck!!

if you go to an electronic store, you can buy a scale that tells you if you are fit or not by sending electronic signals through your body and measuring the percent of fat in your body.

no.

please exercise for 30 mins a day, & eat healthy foods. eating 1300 calories or more to lose weight.

180 is too heavy for a 5'3 female. If it is you, see your family doctor to make sure you are healthy. If you get a green light, you need to start a realistic diet and exercise program. Your doctor make make some recommendations.

No...... but you can fix the problem and personally yes, you should because it's healthy and will make you feel better overall.
Set realistic goals for your long term.
Eat in "right" portions and moderately...... yes it may be tough because it did take a long time to gain weight, it takes a long time to lost weight.
Exercise regularly and enjoy life...
Also, you should exercise NOW because when your fat cells develop at a young age like this it will be very difficult to lose weight in the future..

Well...I work that out to be about 12.8 stone..that's pretty heavy. I'm 5'10 or 5'11, and I weigh about the same. I consider myself overweight.

14 year olds are still growing, and it's possible she'll lose her "puppy fat"- but it wouldn't hurt to cut down her portion sizes, encourage her to take more excercise - perhaps dancing? and of course eat healthily.

i was and still am the same as you
so it's not really that healthy but it's not necessarily that bad either

the nurse is right about how much muscle mass and body fat you have but there is not 14 yr old boy that would have enough muscle to be a healthy 180 at 5' 3. any 14 yr old to be 180 is bad and anyone that is 5' 3 is bad. you need to get this in check and turned around or you could have major health problems if this progresses throughout your teens and young adult life!

hun lose maybe 40 pounds and ur god and healthy
