How can i lose fat and gain muscle effectively?!


Question: i don't have machines to use, or much time to go running. i am currently doing sets of push ups and sit ups during commercials when i watch tv after dark. what are some exercise that will help build muscle especially upper body muscle?

first if you have time to watch t.v. you have time to work out.. so put the remote down and get started!! go to walmart or what is close and buy some dumbells start low and work up. get an ab ball, keep doing your push ups, get a jump rope if you can't go running at night and if you do go out after dark get a reflective belt or something so cars can see you.and if you aren't doing this already start now...eat well balanced meals..then see how you feel after a few months..but start slow and if you have health probs. talk to your Dr. first that's it good luck!!

star jumps, crunches, push ups, running on the spot with the knees up can improve your core, tensing your arm muscles etc.

i really think some dumb bells would help...just doing pushups wont be very effective to build muscle..as for fat...u need to run and do cardio...swimming, biking, etc.

To build muscle you have to lift more weight. You can't just go on your body size. Although, it is still healthy and that, you are just defining your muscles, but still getting stronger. Just use anything around your house that weighs 10 to 20 lbs. when you do these sit ups and push ups. Sit ups, put the weight on your stomach, push ups, put it on your back. Good luck to you.
