Motivation tips??!

Question: I need to get into shape but I lack motivation. I tell myself all the time that I'm gonna start exercising and eating healthier, but I always end up telling myself, "Oh I'll start that tommarrow" or "gee theres just nothing I can do in the winter" and I forget about it for a while. I need some advice on keeping with the dieting and exercising. I appreciate any advice you can give me.

*Try dieting during the week, but eating one unhealthy meal a week. That way you aren't completely depriving yourself of the food you like. It will also give you something to look forward to and a way to reward yourself for your hard work during the week.

*Find foods that are low in calories, but that will allow you to eat enough so that you won't be hungry afterward and eat those foods during the week. I know some good foods that fill you up but are low calorie.

*Remind yourself that losing weight & being healthier will make you a lot happier for a lot longer than indulging in a bad food that will only make you happy for the few minutes it takes to eat it.

*Do something entertaining while you exercise. I like to watch tv or listen to music while I exercise.

*When you find yourself craving a certain food that you shouldn't eat, distract yourself for ten minutes. That's usually how long it takes for a craving to go away. If you find that you are still craving it, allow yourself to indulge every once in a while, but make sure to only eat a bite or so, just enough to satisfy the craving.

*You might also like to know that many times our bodies mistake hunger for thirst, so try drinking water when you're hungry and wait for a little while afterward to see if you were really just thirsty. That way you don't eat when you aren't hungry. It's also good to drink water before you eat because it will help you feel full faster.

I had the same problem with motivation that you do. All of these things helped me and now I find exercising and eating healthily are a part of my daily routine, just the same as brushing my teeth is. It will get a lot easier to do after a short time of doing it.

What got me started is
I took a picture of my self and i put it on my computer and i looked at it.

I said to my self that i don't want to be like that i should lose some weight.
Thats what got me to start working out. It is hard for me to eat all healthy but i try my best. Even if i have to eat 1 thing that is not healthy at least i didn't quit. Try this out if it helps then you are on a good start.
