I have $80 dollars to spend for one month of food?!

Question: with no clothes, no furniture, no microwave, no stove, no money for bus tickets and no car... I was thinking I could buy a bag 3 of potato chips for $2.75 and spend 12 days consuming those bags, and then buy 2 jar of mashed potatoes for $4.00 and spend 6 days eating that... And then buy a bag of flaxseed for 20 cents... and spend 6 days consuming the flax seeds... Any suggestions on really cheap food to fill my stomach?

Bread,Bananas,Chef Boy R Dee since you don't have heat it up, crackers with peanut butter. Canned chicken. Drink alot of water that will fill you up. Also, apply for food stamps in your situation you'll get it the same day. Good Luck!! :)

just drink water and buy a loaf of bred and some peanut butter... eat peanut butter sandwiches everyday till you puke, then you wont even be hungry. spend the money on better things!!!!!!!!!

buy peanut butter, oatmeal, and romen noodels

Top Ramen eat it dry, with hot sauce the kids around here do, it's 10pks for a $1.00 here.

i really dont think thats a good idea. think about it, do you want to get sick/big ? well if you do, sure get all those chips and even more junk. but if you want to spend it on something useful, you HAVE to buy : fruits, vegetables, water, orange juice, white bread OR whole grain, peanut butter and strawberry jam. and then one small snack, like a small chocolate bar. have fun eating!

You could get a loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly. Ramen noodles. Good luck. Hope this helps!

Oatbran is cheap and just needs some hot water....

go the the local church tell them you need food and they will help you even if you have money they will help people in need and you are in need, also tell them you have other needs like the no stove ect.

tuna fish on lettuce
cereal and milk (you can eat for a few days)
cheap peanut butter

At Wal Mart you can get Ramen Noodles for under 3.00 per case of 24. You can buy 4 of those. Then tuna is selling for about 60. per can there too, grab about 10. Old Fashion Oats sells for around 4.00 for the largest box. 1 bag brown sugar, 1 bag of white sugar and 2 lbs of margarine are about 6.00. Buy 1 cheap ceramic bowl 1.00. 4 Gal water 4.00. One cheap spoon 2/1.00. Use the sun to heat water in a bowl, for noodles or oats. can opener priceless....

A coffee maker is 10.00, you can heat water to almost boiling, and plug it in wherever.

Save the rest for next month.

Bananas don't cost a lot; they're healthy for you, and they're like 0.49 cents a pound. So you get about 5 or 6 for about $1.50 or less. However, of course, they only stay good for about a week...sometimes less. Canned soup is cheap; sometimes only about $1 a can.

You mention no money for busy tickets and no car; got any fast food restaurants around you? McDonald's? Burgers or chicken sandwiches are a buck each, if you get something off from their $1 menu. Those can be kept in the 'fridge for several days at least, and heated again.

Buy a big bag of beans and a big bag of brown rice. Both are quite healthy for you, and you can mix them together to form a decent meal. Plus, both of them will last for a week or two, if you alternate between foods.

Umm...I'd stay away from the massive amounts of Ramen noodles, unless you want to end up with brain cancer. Those things are packed with sodium nitrite and/or Monosodium Glutamate; it's no good if they "keep you alive and with food in your stomach" only to die later from severe health problems. That stuff is really bad for you.

Surely you are being sarcastic here. Nobody can live off of that amount of food. Not to mention the fact that $80 can go a good ways if you spend it wisely. Chips, flax seed, and mashed potatoes is not good for you and you know it.

Do you have a refrigerator? I'm going to assume you don't.

Here's what you do:

First you have to budget the amount of money that you can spend in one day. That would be...$2.65 (conservatively). You can buy canned soups for less than a dollar-fifty (and there are two servings per can). And you can buy bananas for cheap cheap (like 88 cents a pound). Now, you have a pound of bananas, a can of soup for lunch and supper, and you have $0.27 left over to put back for a special occasion. You can't eat all of those bananas in one day so you will have some for at least the next two days (you will need them too, bananas are called the perfect food because they have tons of stuff in them that's good for you). And after a few days you will have enough money to get some other fruit. Like apples or something.

You can do it you just have to budget your money right. Chips are waaay more expensive than bananas and such, and they don't have near the nutrients that your body craves. Spend wisely.

For some reason im not believing this, and if your being honest you need to prioritize because obviously you have...
-a computer
-internet access
and get a job, if you had a job you'd have a hell of alot more than $80 a week, i make that working as a server one day a week!
come on, lets get realistic here
