How can i avoid slumbering especially when i'm at work?!

Question: if you have a sedentary job get up and move around more often. the position of your monitor, the lighting in a cubical, the air in the room, the quality of sleep and amount, and diet are just a few thing that can cause sleep problems. sleep apnea is another.
i would make sure my monitor was at the proper height , if possible have daylight in my office area (real or a light bulb that mimics natural light) a small fan to move the air around, carrot sticks or some other healthy and crunchy snack and make sure i got 8 hours of uninterrupted quality sleep each night. if all this fails i would seek a Dr.

excercise on a daily basis. it gives you energy

Eat good healthy snacks often rather than a big meal, drink lots of water. If you can have a walk around or a good stretch.

Do a job that is more to your liking...or it's been said 'find a job you love...and you'll never work a day in your life!'
For now...make yourself more tired, therefore - sleeping better at night.

It's a horrible feeling to feel sleep coming over you when you need to be alert. Try going to bed earlier, but if you are already allowing for a good night's rest of 8 hours, caffeine will help in the form of coffee, soda, and chocolate. If nothing helps, you may need help from your doc. Until you get it under control, it may/or may not be a good idea to talk to your supervisor depending on the degree of support and understanding you would get there.

Make sure you don't have a medical problem such as sleep apnoea. This can make you feel excessively tired in the daytime. Be careful when driving!

I've had the same problem- I try to go to bed earlier, get a few more hours of sleep, and eat a light lunch during your lunch break at work. If able, try to go outside and get some fresh air. Drink lots of fluids, water and vitamin drinks preferably. If you have a desk job, stretch a bit, by getting up for a few minutes so you aren't in the same area the entire time while working. Drinking COLD water helps, also. As strange as it sounds, eat some ice chips. Avoid the "sleepy" foods, like chocolate, for example. Some "Energy" drinks make you crash after a few hours. If you haven't been feeling well for some time, PLEASE go to your Dr. Good luck and take care!
