Weight Loss!!??!

Question: I am 22 years old. I am 5'9 and overweight! LOL Well anyhow i am supposed to weigh about 150-160, well this is embarrassing but i weigh about 180-190. I have a child now, who is about 18 months old. When i was 9 months PREGNANT i weighed about 180-190 which i was told was normal AND i lost almost all the weight a few months after she was born. AND SOMEHOW "WINK WINK" LOL i weigh that again. Anyways here is my question........i just bought a one year gym membership and i plan on going to the gym (honeslty REALLY plan) at least 3-5 days a week, for approx 1 hour. I was wondering when i should start seeing results. See the thing is i would run/walk everynight last summer for 1 hour and i never saw ANY results. Could someone maybe give me some tips and tell me when i should start seeing results therefore i won't become discouraged and quit. Thanks so much and i look forward to hearing your answers......

Well from personal experience, you have to be realistic and take it one day at a time. A healthy weight loss program is 2-3 lbs a week. You will hear diet and exercise is the most important and it's true. That is the healthiest way to lose weight.

Diet: Avoid greasy foods, try consuming more veggies and fruits. For example, if you feel like snacking then eat an apple. You may also want to have a "day off" so you don't overwhelm yourself. Like every Saturday, you can eat whatever you want but the other days, you have to be "healthy". Also don't forget to exercise!

My "push" came from buying a small dress that I couldn't fit in and I hung it up open space. I would try it everyday just to see my progress and it inspired me to keep on doing what I was doing. I lost 15 lbs in 2 months. So Good Luck!

Make sure you are doing at least 30 minutes of cardio, and your heart rate is up to 140 beats per minute. Also watch that you go for a 30 minute fastwalk every other day you are not in the gym. You need to make sure that you're diet is adequate, should be healthy low GI and low calorie foods, how fast you will burn wait depends on how how many calories you are burning, by increasing your heart rate. Skipping is fantastic exercise for the heart you should aim for 15 minutes of skipping at the gym. Also a gym membership should come with a consultation and program with a trainer (1 session) make sure you use this. I'm australian so I've learnt that 1 kilo a week is a good result. That's around 1.4lbs a week for you. Give it a couple of weeks before you look for results, because you're body needs to undergo the big change of building muscle mass, and the more muscle you build, the more fat you will be able to burn later.

well you should first set some realistic goals. foe example: 2 pounds a week. don't worry too much about weight, the body can fluctuate 2 to 3 pounds . you should drink more water and try to monitor your food intake. Writing what you eat each day can help you . also track you progress and don't give up.

this helped me:

Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day ( if you don't like the taste of water try adding a lemon wedge to your bottle)

3 to 4 days of exercise a week . 30+ of cardio...try to get your heart rate up..you could walk to 5 miles but if your heart rate isn't pumping then your just walking.

watch...better yet write down what you eat.

and most importatnt...REST..you body cant rebuild it you don't get enough sleep.

remember...you only fail when you stop trying.

Hope this helps!

We need to know what you are eating. You have to cut some calories.
