Would this meal be a bad choice for dinner nutritionally?!

Question: I'm trying to keep an eye on calories and saturated fats grams.

Here is the meal:

A sour cream and chive baked potato and five chicken nuggets:

650 total calories
6 sat fat grams

If breakfast was all of 260 calories with 1.5 grams of saturated fat, and lunch was probably more around 800 calories with about 5 saturated fat grams, is this meal a bad choice for dinner?

It has pretty decent nutritional value. People poo-poo the potato, but it is full of vitamins and minerals. You would probably have been better off if you had had the chicken grilled and no sour cream, but really it's not that bad. Besides watching fat, you should also try to pay attention to the carbs since they can convert to sugar which in turn becomes fat.

the meal sounds good but its not healthy at all. not any nutritional value. maybe instead of the potato have like, a salad or somethin.

it sounds sorta bad... nutrition wise. that is my opinion

It kind of is. Sour cream is not the healthiest way to go. Try eating the baked potatoe, but just with the chives. And I wouldn't go with the chicken nuggets either because those have a lot of preservatives. Not nutritional at all. I would cook a chicken breast with some light flavoring, try a squeeze of lemon and pepper. then you would have a nice healthy meal. Good luck on your dieting!

Chives don't count as a vegetable. You need at least 5-6 servings of vegetable and fruit every day. Try getting chicken and baking it with no flour or breading (there is carbohydrate in the breading) and eating that, with half a baked potato with fat free sour cream and chives, a nice green salad with tomato, cucumber, and onion (also mushrooms, which are extremely low calorie and have no fat) and a vinaigrette dressing with no fat or low fat (no more than 60 cals per tablespoon). Have cereal with a glass of juice or a piece of fruit for breakfast, and have a HUGE salad with some meat added (at least 3 cups of greens, plus tomato and cucmber and onion) with two to three servings of vinaigrette for lunch. You will feel much fuller and you'll lose more weight that way ... you need to eat 1500 calories a day to be able to 'lose weight' and if you do enough exercise to burn an extra 500 calories a day you will lose about 2 pounds a week.

I agree that the chicken nuggets aren't too great. I would have the baked potato with organic ketchup and a veggie chick'n pattie on a slice of whole wheat bread (cut in half, as two sliced are too big and without corn syrup and hydrogenated oils; all natural), and organic ketchup. I would say that the dinner is about 450 calories.

Switch the last meal to your breakfast. Turn the nuggest into a chicken breast. That way you are alive and awake during the day and you will be less tempted to eat bad meals throughout the day.

Dinner should be the time we eat the smallest meal. I'm sure that's why it's called Break-Fast :)

OBVIOUSLY!!
You don't need 800 Calories for supper!
right now your supper calories are the Most you get all day
You ll sleep for hours and your body wont be burning it as fast as normally would if you were awake
It should be Breakfast ,Lunch and Supper from the biggest to smallest calorie intake
you should switch the calories from Breakfast with the calories from Supper, and lunch calories should be your 600 or so from supper
GOD!!!

Believe it or not, diet and exercise has been a big part of my life. I have always struggled with weight.

For me I have to eat right and exercise or I will not be good. You are doing the right thing.

You have to learn how to be feasible. More than just tell you, yes that is good you are fine. It is more than that.

Do you keep a journal? You should. We are all different when it comes to calories and fat. One person should have 1600 calories a day, another should have 3000. Me I am 6'1 and I have a big frame and I am active. 1600 calories would make me drop out dead! LOL. I keep myself around 2700-3000. That is even low for me. But at that range I don
