7 Minutes doesn't really seem that bad. I that is the best I've ever did before.

And I'm not the most fit person. Well I'm not saying I'm fat, I just don't run or anything.

It really doesn't depend on how to get faster.

Faster is actually worse for you. You just need to stay at a constant jog. Something that won't wind you out easy. Like start out light in the beginning and then speed up a little and try not to stop. And if you stop, make sure it is quick.

I just tell myself to keep going. Because you can actually keep going. It is just your brain telling you to stop. But if you force yourself to go, then you will go. You have control over your own body.

And asthma, I can't really help you with that. Just take it easy. Don't sprint. Keep an inhaler with you just in case.

ah i have the same thing! i practice on a treadmill so i can see how far i've run and now to increase my speed or stay at my pace. I have asthma and used to run like a 18 minute mile, gah sad now i'm down to 11:02, so the trick is to do it everyday and lots of protein, lots of bananas! if your body isnt taken care of it wont have enough energy to make you want to go, it will make you want to stop and give up.

Running is one of those things that takes determination and practice. Try running some hills to build endurance. Another thing would be to try to increase your speed using small distances. So, going off of your average, a half mile would be run in about 5 min, 30 secs. Then, try to run a little bit faster, dropping about 10-20 seconds off that time. Also try to run around 2 miles, to build endurance. If you combine all these techniques, you will improve.

I you're having exorcisms, I think your mile time is the least of your problems...
